Selwood will not only go down in history as an icon of the game – a record breaker – but also as a selfless leader who supported his team through one of the club’s most successful periods in its history. After Selwood was made captain of the team in 2012, Geelong made the finals in all but one season, playing in seven preliminary finals and two Grand Finals – culminating in Geelong’s tenth premiership in 2022. Now, for the first time, Selwood tells his story in his own words.

Story
Roughy is the story of a footballer who lived the dream, the country boy who not only became an AFL star, but was a key player in a Hawthorn team that will be remembered as one of the greats of any era. Success didn't change him, which made him all the more relatable, as if in spirit he was still having a kick with the Leongatha Parrots and a beer with his mates at the local pub. When in 2015 a spot on his bottom lip was diagnosed as melanoma, we could relate to him all the more.

Story
When most people think of Michael Jordan, they think of the beautiful shots, his body totally in sync with the ball, hitting nothing but net. He is responsible for incredible moments so ingrained in basketball history that they have their own names: The Shrug, The Shot, The Flu Game. But for all his greatness, there's also a dark side to Jordan: a ruthless competitor, a gambler. There's never been a biography that balanced these personas-until now.

Craving paternal acceptance while determined to carve out his own identity and, later, to avoid repeating the sins of the father, he veered between periods of jubilation and depression. Sultan tells the story of cricket's greatest left-arm bowler, and one of its enduring survivors, who was chosen from the streets of Lahore and groomed by Imran Khan to become champion of the world—he was Man of the Match in the final of the 1992 World Cup which Pakistan won. Along the way were unforgettable rivalries with the legends of his time, from Viv Richards and Ian Botham to Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne. All of this against a backdrop of conspiracy and intrigue over ball tampering and match-fixing, about which Wasim finally sets the story straight.

Story
This isn't a book of life lessons. It's not going to tell you make your bed, or stand-up straight or any of that. There's no blueprint to follow here. But, at 43 years of age, and with a bit more time on his hands than usual, Freddie Flintoff has had a moment to reflect, and he's noticed that although there's been little method in the madness, there has been the occasional common thread.

He wasn’t chasing fame or public recognition. He just wanted to test his limits and raise a million dollars for homelessness in the process.

Excellent Read - Even for Non-Cricketers like Myself
Intrigued to read this book as I was born in Junee, at school with Adam’s sister & My Mum (an avid cricket fan) raves about, Adam Gilchrist.
I now see why!
What an admirable, impressive human being. Humorous to read about his parents instilling ‘old school’ values. A thoroughly enjoyable book, I laughed, cried & everything in between & for what it’s worth Adam…..I would’ve walked too 👍

Gilly The Greatest Generational Gamesman
I could go on for ages here, but True Colours only confirmed what an equally standout man Gilly is when compared to his unparalleled deeds on the cricket field. A really heartwarming, humorous and inspirational story. Gilly, your guts and determination to make it as a Test match champion on your long journey just shows all good things do come to those who wait....if the wait is unwavering, constantly wanting and striving to better yourself, with 11\10 persistence. Just don't get behind the controls of a forklift again.....unless you are destroying a pallet of Six & Out CD's.
