Publisher's Summary

A courageous, life-changing memoir that teaches us to apply the lessons learned by those nearing their death to our own life.

After too many years of unfulfilling work, Bronnie Ware began searching for a job with meaning. Despite having no formal qualifications or experience, she found herself working in palliative care.

During the time she spent tending to the needs of those who were dying, Bronnie's life was transformed. Later, she wrote an Internet blog post about the most common regrets that the people she had cared for had expressed to her. The post, also called 'The Top Five Regrets of the Dying', gained so much momentum that it was viewed by more than three million people worldwide in its first year. At the request of many, Bronnie now shares her personal story.

Bronnie has had a colourful and diverse life. By applying the lessons of those nearing their death to her own life, she developed an understanding that it is possible for everyone, if they make conscious choices, to die with peace of mind. In this heartfelt retelling, Bronnie expresses the significance of these regrets. She explains how we can address these issues positively now, while we still have the time.

The Top Five Regrets of the Dying: A Life Transformed by the Dearly Departing gives hope for a better world. Bronnie's delightful memoir is a courageous, life-changing book that will leave you feeling more compassionate and inspired to live the life you are truly here to live.

Must read! 9/10

Fantastic perspectives and mindsets shared from Bronnie and her interesting life. Such truth shared from these pages. At times found a little wordy for me personally, particularly the first few chapters. But would highly encourage anyone who wants to appreciate the life more and find deeper purpose in their life today to read this now. Thanks for the wonderful work Bronnie !

Author’s Life Story

Eighty percent of the book is the author’s life story and twenty percent is about the dying and their life stories. The author / narrator has a soothing voice and does sound like a decent, kind woman but this book is more of an autobiography than a book about the regrets of the dying.

More a self-indulgent biography of the author than lessons from the dying. Disappointing.

Self-righteous and preachy. Narrated in a too slow and droning voice, had to speed up and in the end could not finish. I’m genuinely perplexed by 5 star reviews this book gets. The lessons could have been an essay instead of an entire book. In fact there is an article by The Guardian that summarises the 5 regrets perfectly, wished I had come across it first rather than investing time in listening to and buying the book.

I didn’t enjoy this book

I found this book to be self indulgent and cringy. It feels a bit like the author used dying people to profit off.

For one and all

What great incites to hear before your exit journey. sometimes obvious situations that are common place are thwarted with non obvious remedy’s. A great work of a great life where adversity yet again breeds strength. Thankyou Bronwyn

Beautiful and deep

Beautiful and gently written book about unavoidable end for all humans. It gave me a rare inside into death and regrets that may come with it, but also other difficult moments in one’s life.
Thanks Bronnie for sharing you knowledge and experience. Some part definitely helped me to better understand myself.
