Story
My hand trembles as I stare at the anonymous text. On this sunny Saturday morning, our twin ten-year-old boys were playing in the park just down our tree-lined street. But only one of them has come home… and it’s all my husband’s fault. I race to Leo’s study and demand answers. As his face turns white, I know: one of his affairs has turned deadly. I always smell the unfamiliar perfume on his shirt. I try to pretend we are a happy family, for the sake of the children… but now, my child is in terrible danger.

Publisher's Summary
The heart-racing psychological thriller that will break your heart into tiny pieces, from world-renowned author Michael Robotham.
Now a major television series starring Laura Carmichael.
This edition includes an exclusive bonus interview with Michael Robotham about the making of the hit TV adaptation.
Everyone has an idea of what their perfect life is. For Agatha, it's Meghan Shaughnessy's.
These two women from vastly different backgrounds have one thing in common - a dangerous secret that could destroy everything they hold dear.
Both will risk everything to hide the truth, but their worlds are about to collide in a shocking act that cannot be undone.
Critic Reviews
"Two terrific female characters, both with secrets. Add Michael Robotham's clean prose and whipcrack pacing. The result? A book you won't be able to put down, although you may occasionally want to hide your eyes" (Stephen King)
"Robotham doesn't just make me scared for his characters, he makes my heart ache for them." (Linwood Barclay)
"Superbly exciting...." (Guardian)

Where has Michael Robothom gone?
Ok I get it that the Psychologist character is finished having read all the previous books. But really a male writer trying to occupy the intimate thoughts of women really failed. A very disappointing story

Best pick.
Wow. This is the first book I have come across by Michael robotham. I read and listen to books all the time and this would certainly be in my top 5 now. Never before have I had such empathy with a villen that I am nearly willing her on during a crucial part of the plot because I can feel her anguish and need as her character has been masterfully built throughout the story.
Lucy price-lewis reads in a beautiful captivating voice that I could listen to all day which really finishes off the jewel of this novel.

A disappointment following the Jo O’Laughlin series
Having just finished the 8 or so books of Michael Robotham that centre around Jospeh O’Laughlin character I struggled to get any traction with this book. The narrator was frustrating and while I prefer a female narrator when they main characters are female I didn’t like the way in which it was read. I returned this after listening to an hour. I read the other reviews and thought I would give it a go regardless. Thankful for the full refund if you don’t like it

Plot holes everywhere
There were so many plot holes in this book that I had to suspend all belief in reality. Hospital cameras with poor images, a partner not noticing no actual breast feeding, a caesarean after two vaginal births. I could write a huge list. If you’re going to write a book that is so personal, the details are crucial.
