Story
Loulou Landers is about to turn 49 and she's feeling seriously overlooked. She hasn't had a relationship for 20 years, her 21-year-old daughter Theo is giving her the cold shoulder, and is that really a bunion making it so painful to walk, or is Christian Louboutin losing his touch? Theo can't see what her mum is so hung up about. It's only another birthday. And she has more important things to think about - mainly herself. For not only is Loulou permanently single, but so is Theo – despite her legendary good looks. But over the course of a summer, everything changes.

Story
When London editor Georgia Abbott comes to Sydney to work on Glow, a glossy woman's magazine, she has high hopes for a bright new start. Leaving behind a broken heart (her own) and a philandering ex-fiance, she's looking forward to immersing herself in the Tim Tam-eating sisterhood of woman's mags. Not to mention being whisked off into the dusty Australian sunset by a suntanned, Akubra-hatted fantasy man.

Story
Of all the nightmare options that passed through Antonia Heaveringham's head when her husband Hugo uttered the words, 'I've got something to tell you,' a coming out speech never figured. Suddenly alone in their adopted home of Sydney, with no friends save for her six-year-old son Tom and a pair of jeweled Jimmy Choo mules, Antonia soon finds that an attractive single woman is not nearly so welcome on the champagne social scene as the wife of a glamorous English aristocrat.

Publisher's Summary
A tale of perfumes, exploring life, love, loss and forgiveness - Maggie Alderson's new best seller.
Are you still married if you haven't seen your husband for months?
Polly's life is great. Her children are away at uni, her glamorous mother - still modelling at 85 - is happily settled in a retirement village, and her perfume blog is taking off. Then her husband announces he needs some space and promptly vanishes.
As Polly grapples with her bewildering situation, she clings to a few new friends to keep her going - Shirlee, the loudmouthed yoga student; Guy, the mysterious, infuriating and hugely talented perfumer; and Edward, an old flame from university.
And while she distracts herself with the heady world of luxury perfume, Polly knows she can't keep reality at bay forever. Eventually she is forced to confront some difficult truths: about her husband, herself, and who she really wants to be.

LOVE this book and its narration
What a wonderful book. I love Maggie’s work and consider her a favourite author but I put off reading this as I’m not very interested in perfume. I’m so happy that I bought it!
The story is great, lovable characters, a twist you won’t pick and leaves you with a lovely, fulfilled sense.
Highly recommend!

A very good read
Maggie has used various writing techniques to keep you well engaged and intrigued for the entire story. I particularly like the blog entries. I did find the ending very abrupt and had hoped for a little bit more of a reunion.
