Publisher's Summary

An intelligent, intellectually rigorous examination of why the Christian faith still makes sense in an age of scepticism.

As the pastor of an inner-city church in New York City, Timothy Keller has compiled a list of the most frequently voiced doubts sceptics bring to his church as well as the most important reasons for faith.

In The Reason for God, he addresses each doubt and explains each reason. Keller uses literature, philosophy, real-life conversations, and reasoning to explain how faith in a Christian God is a soundly rational belief held by thoughtful people of intellectual integrity with deep compassion for those who truly want to know the truth.

I've not read a book more essential

An intellectual, open-minded analysis of humanity, our world and the answers various religions give. Yet, only one answer stands true and answers the hearts deepest desire to the meaning of life.

Outstanding insights

As a third generation Christian I have found myself somewhat lost in all the jargon and complexities of differing views. Coming across this book has given me much food for thought and I am grateful. I can now move forward and seek God with a fresh perspective.

intellectually stimulating yet not too difficult

I finished this book in a breeze. it's one of those audiobooks which is narrated by the author so it sounds exactly the way it was intended, a calm and honest voice. I think most people would enjoy this book, some might find it challenging as in the book might confront your assumptions, then again so does every good text. And I think all people would learn something or more from it. It's not difficult to get into and understand, it's designed for easy reading, (or in this case listening). it's a 4/5 for story because it's not really a story, yet contains elements of the story of God and like most non fiction books contains short stories or parables to convey a point. It's well worth listening to this one, I give my recommendation

Not for the faint hearted

Not an easy listen/read. Academic and a bit repetitive in his approach to peoples beliefs.
