Publisher's Summary

For 300 years, The Pilgrim's Progress has remained perhaps the best-loved and most read of devotional fictions. In plain yet powerful and moving language, Bunyan tells the story of Christian's struggle to attain salvation and the Gates of Heaven. He must pass through the Slough of Despond, ward off the temptations of Vanity Fair, and fight the monstrous Apollyon. In Part II, his wife and children follow the same path, helped and protected by Great-heart, until for them, too, "the trumpets sound on the other side."

Peerless

The Pilgrim's Progress has never been out of print since 1678, and being such a charming allegory of the Christian life that adults and children alike can enjoy, never shall be.

The narration by David Shaw-Parker was excellent, being well suited to the tone.

People might not be as familiar with Part 2, but the account of Christiana, her children, and other Pilgrims is a seamless sequel to Christian's journey.

Pilgrims Progress

Loved this narration of both books in the old English by John Bunyan. Inspirational and relevant for the 21st century. Worth the lengthy time to hear both books, and brilliantly narrated by David Shaw-Parker

Timeless

The imagery within the story is power, challenging and encouraging. If you of faith it is must. I put it off for to many years and my only regret is that had not listened to it sooner. Absolutely, wonderful.

What a way to go!

Yes it’s tale like none other, childish yet profound, provoking in me a rather deep thoughtful assay of just what drives, what hinders, just as what really are my motivations. Of course this probably is the basics of what I should be a truthful self evaluation, but do I, or will I, indeed can I arise to deal well with them.

Old fashioned language

Perhaps it was in the blurb and I missed it but I love this story and remember being told it as a child and wanted to hear it again but the old fashioned English to me is unbearable. Hopefully I can find a more modern version.
