Left wanting more Sheila O'Flanagan

This is the first Sheila O'Flanagan book I've read. I got so involved with this story my heart was racing at times. Had to keep listening well past bedtime in the last chapters - wouldn't be able to sleep otherwise. I'm now deciding on which Sheila O'Flanagan to listen to next.

Love love LOVED it

I couldn't put this one down and listened to it in one sitting. The beautifully detailed descriptions of France, Imogen's journey and the friendships she forms and broken bonds she mends along the way, even Vince's perspective made this such an enjoyable book. I'm sad it's over. Brilliantly narrated by Aoife McMahon who has a lovely melodic voice and engaging tone. I'd give 10 stars if I could.

Easy listen

Liked the narrator. Thought she did a brilliant job with so many characters - but couldn’t figure out if Dublin-based Shauna was supposed to be Welsh?!

The story meandered a bit. Some conversation seemed a bit pointless and I’ve never heard so many different ‘people‘ use the word ‘nevertheless’.

Liked the description of the various settings and brought back my own memories of time spent in small French villages and San Sebastián.

I’d describe this as an easy read holiday novel which I’ll probably forget by next week.

Light and entertaining

I loved this book. Yes it’s light but so enjoyable. The last third of the book I couldn’t stop listening. I had to find out the ending. Timely in todays understanding of coercive control. Will search for other books from this author. Hi

Engrossing

While it was hard to listen to at times, I really enjoyed the diversity of this book. The landscape, the characters, the relationships. And loved the accents of the narrator. I choose books by looking up Aoife McMahon. She is so good 💕
