Story of great courage superbly read

This was such an incredible story of survival in the face of terrible evil. I felt the narrator was excellent and this increased the impact of Nadias escape from ISIS and the horrors they inflicted on the Yazidis. Having listened to this audiobook i now feel so much empathy for this people and their culture. Highly recommended.

Nothing beats true stories, especially when they are so horrific and distressing. as painful as it is listen to, this story reflects the resilience and strength of the human spirit. there is always hope and light at the end of the tunnel.

A genuine story from a brave girl

This is a touching story of the Yazidis of Iraq, my homeland.
It is a must read for all Iraqis, Muslims and people around the globe as a proof on how religion is poisonous and should be left as a personal choice not a living ideology.

The Truth

A heartbreaking and heartwarming read. I was brought to tears at times but so glad I read it. This story, and unfortnately many others like it world wide, should never have truly been experienced!

Shocking, sad, terrifying

The story of Nadia is unbelievably sad. The reason I gave only 3 points for performances was the narrators way of reading - which is probably more suitable for exiting children books. At times it made the horrific experiences from Nadia and her fellow sufferers sound unrealistic.

A tale of courage, resourcefulness and survival

Nadia's story is heartbreaking and confronting. Its an important book and an important record. Its well written so easier to listen to in that respect. Thank you Nadia for sharing this harrowing nightmare time.

Heart wrenching!

Incredibly honest and heart wrenching story. Felt so happy when Nadia escaped but feels sorry about all those who could not.
