Publisher's Summary

Barbara was 12 when she was admitted to the psychiatric hospital Aston Hall in 1971. From a troubled home, she'd hoped she would find sanctuary there. But during her stay, Barbara was systematically drugged and abused by its head physician, Dr Kenneth Milner.

Somehow, eventually, she started to campaign for answers. This is a shocking account of how vulnerable children were preyed upon by the doctor entrusted with their care.

Intriguing

Amazing story of a true survivor, very sad to hear of her life in past. Learnt to listen to words of people who speak of abuse. Loved it and life changing.

This was a story of horrific abuse. It was emotional to listen to, can not imagine to what all these your people when though . To the power the so called professional had and allow this to happen. It made feel sad for the children .

Absolutely shocking

The content of this book is really difficult to listen as it is completely abhorrent what a child has endured though it is something you don’t want to press stop on either. Mature audiences only.

wow... what strength

I cried for you, I got angry at the abuse and also at all the so called adults that came into your life and did nothing. My heart brakes for you.
Hope the legal battle works out and more answers come forth. Hope Christine is doing OK if you find out news of her.
take care ..

Forgotten children

Very sad and heartbreaking story of teenage girls and boys suffering in the hands of so called doctor and nurses in a mental hospital. Barbara, you are very brave and strong and it’s hard to believe that you survived such a cruel childhood. I cried and cried listening to your life story.
