Loved every minute
When you hear a good book, it makes all the others fade in comparison. Characters, storyline, writing were all vivid, memorable and encompassing. The author has passion and intellect and both were apparent in this wonderful story. So happy I found it. Thank you.

Excellent!
Wow i really liked this book.
I couldn’t preempt it, and it had a lot of twist and turns. Very different from any book i ever read.
The narrations are GREAT. When you get use to the accents.
I loved that I didn’t agree with the main characters decisions, those are the best kind of books i believe, because you learn the most about yourself reading them.

Wow. What a masterpiece.
The narration was flawless and I was immersed in the characters' lives and the stories that should be told forever, lest we forget. We so often hear of the horrors of WWII but forget that there was a similar brutality in the 1st WW. My grandfather was gassed by the Germans, returning home to England with a 6cm hole in his leg from a cannon ball, later emigrating to Western Australia. I never met him.
