Publisher's Summary

A loving mother. A perfect family. A shock wave that could shatter everything.

Freya Braithwaite knows she is lucky. Nineteen years of marriage to a man who still warms her soul and two beautiful teenage daughters to show for it: confident Charlotte and thoughtful Lexi. Her home is filled with love and laughter.

But when Lexi's struggles with weight take control of her life, everything Freya once took for granted falls apart, leaving the whole family with a sense of helplessness that can only be confronted with understanding, unity and, above all, love.

In this compelling and heart-wrenching new work by bestselling author Amanda Prowse, one ordinary family tackles unexpected difficulties and discovers that love can find its way through life's darkest moments.

Another brilliant story

I love the way the author narrates her own work.
Yet again she has created a tale incorporating very relatable characters and an issue or topic that touches many. A beautiful story that nonetheless doesn’t pull any punches.
My favourite author to read and listen to.

PLEASE AMANDA - don't narrate your own books

I began listening and tried to persevere, however the narration was so unsuited to the book's message that I gave up. It has stopped me buying other books by this author who appears to narrate all her own books. Get an actor to narrate. Be satisfied with your own ability to write books, but don't think you can both write and narrate. You can't. Praise for your writing, but please, please allow others better qualified to narrate.

Very heart wrenching - wonderful

Brilliant - the fight of eating disorders - is a fight of the family -this story is a great representation of the life of anorexia and how it effects the whole family- and great to have it “out there” to make people aware. Well worth the read/ audio

Great story. difficult ending.

i think with this story it would have been difficult to end it regardless of what happened. Eating disorders are such an emotive topic and recovery usually takes years and years. The ending of this book seemed sudden and a little unbelievable but on reflection how else could Amanda Prowes have ended it?
i feel like the reviews where people are saying its unrealistic for the parents to act like that have never worked with eating disorders or parents. i have seen mothers act that way. Was their relationship immeshed? yes! is that unbelievable? no. i wont go into it more but i will bet you that if lexi had more relapses the behaviours of the parents in particular the mother would have changed.
not one of amandas best but still a good read/listen.
