Story
I live a simple, small-town life. Helping with the family restaurant, my side gig as a ride-share driver, hanging with my best friend, and making the most of the extra time with my ghost grandma. The only exciting thing to happen to me in the past year was when Gabe moved to town—too bad Nonna scared him off. It’s hard to impress a guy when your dead grandmother calls him the devil.

When you can talk to ghosts, things are bound to get spirited. The ghosts have been there since before I can remember. When I was a kid, they doted on me, but as I got older, they got more demanding. Story
After half a century of chaos, my retirement from leading the Community of Species Government has been bliss. No more hellhounds playing pranks. No more snippy demons demanding my attention. No more cajoling money from the wealthy to support the community. Just peace while I avoid my overbearing father and try to work out my next steps. Although...maybe three years of peace is enough. It might even be starting to get boring. In fact, an adolescent dragon crash-landing on my landlord's shed is just the kind of excitement I need - especially when he brings his species leader to my door.

Story
Malachi Keogh finds himself in a job he neither wanted nor asked for when his father, boss of Sydney’s postal service, sends him to the end of the business line, a.k.a. the Dead Letter Office. Malachi expects it to be tedious and boring, but instead discovers a warehouse with a quirky bunch of misfit co-workers, including a stoic and nerdy boss, Julian Pollard. Where Julian is calm and ordered, Malachi is chaos personified, but despite their outward differences, there’s an immediate chemistry between them that sends Malachi’s head - and heart - into a spin.

Story
Payne. In search of: Room to rent. Must ignore the patheticness of a 40-year-old roommate. Preferably dirt cheap as funds are tight (nonexistent). There’s nothing sadder than moving back to my hometown newly divorced, homeless, and lost for what my next move is. When my little brother’s best friend offers me a place to stay in exchange for menial duties, I swallow my pride and jump at the offer. I need this. I also need Beau to wear a shirt. And ditch the gray sweatpants. And not leave his door ajar when he’s in compromising positions...

Publisher's Summary
Spencer Cohen is the guy who gets answers to relationship questions. Playing the role of the new lover, his job is to make his client's ex realize one of two things: he doesn't want to break up or he really does. Either way, his client gets answers.
The ex would either apologize and beg, or turn and walk. But in the end, Spencer's client won. If he wanted his ex back and got him, it was great. If the guy walked away, then as hard it was for the client, he knew it was over. Regardless of the outcome, Spencer's work was done.
Andrew Landon's ex left him without so much as an explanation. But his sister can't stand to see him miserable, so, much to Andrew's dismay, they hire Spencer to be Andrew's new boyfriend to get the ex back.
For Spencer, it is never personal. Merely a business transaction. No emotions, no strings, no complications. Yeah right. Even a blind man could see how this would end.
Contains mature themes.

Really enjoyed this series
I love many of N.R Walker's books and I had been avoiding reading or listening to these ones. I am not entirely sure why maybe because the covers didn't appeal to me but I read this book and it was great. If you are hesitating for whatever reason just give this series ago.

Not great
This was pretty disappointing I must admit. The plot was very basic when compared to books in the same genre (i.e. books by Mary Calmes). the characters were sort of likeable, but it was strange to realise the N R Walker doesn't know the meaning of the words abstract and redundant, 2 words used in the book at some point that were in direct contradiction to what was being said. It would have also been good to try and come up with different adjectives rather than the incessant "stupid", this is particularly so towards the end of the book.
I must admit that what bothered me the most though was Leslie's performance. I had read such great reviews on his narration, that against better judgment, decided to purchase the audio book without properly listening to the sample first.... big mistake. Leslie does good voices and the accents were ok, but seriously the out of breath, "chest pressured" reading was truly unbearable.
I actually find this particularly difficult to describe, but it was as if the book was being read after Leslie had gone for a run and was trying to catch his breath. It genuinely made anxious (lol, maybe i'm just particularly sensitive!!) After the first 15mins I had to listen to the rest of the book in 2x speed, just so I didn't notice the struggling-for-air reading.
Sadly I do not recommend this book.
