Publisher's Summary

The full release of The Last Town serial, with new original content!

It started in the Middle East. A flu-like plague that infected thousands and killed roughly 10 percent of its victims. Those who died awoke once again, but they were no longer among the living - they came back as soulless, carnivorous corpses who desired only one thing: to feed on living human flesh.

As the infection spread, across Europe and the rest of the globe, cities were overwhelmed. Nations fell. Humanity flickered like a candle flame in the wind.

In the United States: the nation's great cities are becoming hunting grounds. New York, Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles.... All are falling victim to hordes of shambling dead who want only one thing: to devour the living.

Single Tree, California, is a small resort town in Inyo County. Between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, it's easy to overlook. And that's exactly what the citizens of Single Tree want, for the stenches and those fleeing them to ignore the town long enough for it to be transformed into a desert fortress at the foot of Mount Whitney.

But time is not on their side. Not only do they have to worry about the dead.... they have to fear the living.

Political agenda gets in way of possible story

Only made it 1/3 of the way through. All the "right-wingers" are inclusive, virtuous, industrious heroes and all the prominent left-wingers (for example, Sinclair) are racist, sociopathic, serpentine villains. The heroes love good ol' American guns and cars, the villains are foreigners are anti-gun nuts who drive foreign cars. I'm a centrist, don't believe in the left/right dicotomy, but this stuck in my craw so badly that i couldn't see myself being able to get into the potentially excellent zombie story. I'm sure this book will find an audience, though. Book returned for refund.

Pretty awful

This is probably one of the worst books about the zombie apocalypse I have heard. The narrator is awful.

Production...?

Great story, not bad narration... but the production! There was a phone going off in the background at one point lol. Long silent sections and constant white noise was a distraction. Some simple things could have made this a lot better.
Would still recommend though 👍

Excellent.

Everything I wanted in a zombie novel. Is there going to be a follow up audiobook?

Hmm

Story line was good but the narrator was hard to follow he made the whole book sound boring. If you changed narrators I would possible listen again. Also did anyone else hear the chimes in the background like a phone ringing or am I just going crazy

Very disappointing

I’ve listened to a lot of books of a similar genre and unfortunately this was by far the worst one I’ve tried. Only managed to get 2 or so hours into the story. Couldn’t get on with the narrator plus the story and especially the characters were very average.

Sorry hate to leave such a negative review and score but this was just plain and simple bad.
