a well told fable
Refreshingly filled with unexpected twists and a pleasing storyline. Just a little too filled with unrequited love scenes carefully and vividly built for my taste, and it would have been nicer to explore more of the characters in detail

Strange the Dreamer
Beautiful, dreadful, magical and haunting.
Strange the Dreamer is a beautiful and intricate journey through a world filled with magic, tragedy and the whispers of a fantasy that you want to be real.
The story has you emotionally invested and the characters have you hanging on there every word, I can't wait to start the next book Muse of Nightmares and see where this story take me.
Loved every piece of this book, it's a must read.

Magic.
It is always magical with Laini Taylor... then add Steve West's soothing narrator voice and suddenly you're transported into another world. Because of this audiobook, I was looking forward to my travel to and from work and didn't mind the traffic at all.. can't wait until Muse of Nightmares!

Vivid and imaginative
I found myself quickly intrigued by the story and main character. The story takes you on a wonderful adventure and I was constantly delighted by surprising directions the story takes. Everything I look for in a fantasy novel.

Mesmerizing
I chose Laini Taylor for my first Audible experience and expected to be entertained. This book surpassed my expectations. The narrator has great energy. A bit funny when the narrator takes on a female timbre to his voice. But the story is so rich & exciting that it has eclipsed all else. Definitely worth my time and credit. Laini Taylor, thank you for this book.

Wonderful story, so beautifully written by a masterful storyteller

Wonderful storytelling
A skillful piece of story telling with many wonderful word pictures, memorable characters, fully developed world building and a haunting beauty.
The reading performance is excellent. I read the novel a year ago, then listened recently and even though I did remember some of the story, I thoroughly enjoyed hearing the story. In fact, I felt annoyed when people interrupted my listening time!

I couldn't have enjoyed this more
A genuinely beautiful story (a new favourite of mine) and probably the best narrator performance I've heard to date (up there with Tim Gerard Reynolds and the Red Rising series). If you have a heart and a shred of whimsy you won't regret a credit spent here. Unfortunately I couldn't do a review justice, but contained herein is a magical love story with heroes, gods and monsters. Go for it.
