Publisher's Summary
Over a million copies of the Iron Druid books sold
Kevin Hearne creates the ultimate Atticus O'Sullivan adventure in the grand finale of the New York Times best-selling Iron Druid Chronicles.
Unchained from fate, the Norse gods Loki and Hel are ready to unleash Ragnarok, aka the Apocalypse, upon the earth. With a whole host of dark allies on their side, there's a globe-spanning battle on the cards - one which Druid Atticus O'Sullivan will be hard-pressed to survive, much less win.
Atticus must recruit the aid of an Indian witch and a trickster god in hopes that they'll give him just enough leverage to both save Gaia and see another sunrise. After all, if the world ends, who's going to make sure the hound Oberon gets his well-deserved snack?

Not quite to the same standard
I thoroughly enjoyed the previous Iron Druid novels and expected that this last one would be A+ in every respect. Unfortunately, I got the impression that the finish was a bit 'rough'. It was as if ideas had dried up and instead of giving his usual genius time to develop, Mr Hearne went straight into production to please the money men. (Can't blame him mind you!) Fans will of course read this book irrespective of how anyone feels about it. My main hope is that Mr Hearne writes a further edition to the Iron Druid series and so on and so on and so on.....

Well placed ending, great narration
As always the humour and fun action is almost constant. I found myself cackling regularly, especially for Owen.
Christopher Ragland’s narration is some of the best around. Really nails accents and tone. Perfect.

Sad the series is finished
Spoiler alert - I know this book received a lot of complaints from fans of the Iron Druid series, so much more could have happened, more action & intrigue, I get the idea & I am glad it finished with potential for more Atticus stories, I love the character & think he was judged too harshly, honestly, killing the Norns was self defense & I would of done the same. I get the feeling that Kevin Hearne hasn't finished with the Iron Druid or maybe Atticus will get the Iron out of his aura now he isn't being hunted, the book seems more like a transition to me.
Poor Atticus probably had one of the worst days of his life & then getting dumped by Granule just destroys him, seems like when you are down, everyone wants to screw you. I enjoyed this book, it was mild but there was much amusement in the form of Slow Mo & the eternal curmudgeon Owen beginning to lighten up & appreciate the fresh start he has been given. A new kinder, more thoughtful Thor & the gods constantly acting like self serving twats. It's a decent read, It took my mind off work & gave me the escapism I need on my daily commute, don't judge too harshly, I don't think this is the end, I believe Kevin just needs a breather & will hopefully continue to explode the world of Owen & Granule, I love Granule but she needs to lighten up & get some help removing the stick from her arse, as a druid of Gaia, I wouldn't be stressing the small things like petty theft to get a serious job done, I find it irritating & I'm amazed Atticus put up with it, let's make her a little more human. Thanks Kevin

A little bit of a let down.
Without spoiling anything for people who may read this...the last book in this series was a little bit of a let down. Probably my least liked book out of the nine. The only high point is the "oaken druid".
I vote for a series, book or even short story following him and slowmo on their adventures.

Fluffy
Loved all the previous books but this is just so PC and fluffy. I’m sorry Kevin I was so excited for it. It was ragnarok!! But it felt like a school fight. Bubble tea sums this up.

Absolute Rubbish
Skip the 1st 20 mins so you avoid having to listen to the ‘series destroying’ talking dogs and you are still faced with continuous mispronounced faux ‘American Irish’ with an accent so bad as to rival Tom Cruise in far and away and the worst comedy you’ll hear anywhere .
I was hoping the series might finish a bit better than this.
There are actually really good parts to this series but only when it’s actually dealing with the core story and not trying to be funny and cute. How many jokes can anyone stomach about dogs liking bloody meat... seriously over done and not at all funny after the first book.
The whole series is also annoyingly inaccurate where doing a little homework might have added to the equation. Getting an Irish narrator would have been a great start. Both the accents and pronunciation were frankly insulting to me as an Irish person. Great idea for a series ... terrible narrator who turns most of the four legged characters into muppets. It’s great when it’s sticking to the story... pointless side characters and childish quips make this fine for young teenagers, sad it couldn’t have stuck to a slighter harder theme as in the earlier books.
Crap... don’t bother !
