Story
When Van Tudor returns to his childhood home, he inherits more than the family farm. His grandfather used to tell him fantastic stories of spacemen and monsters, princesses and galactic knights. Little did Van realize, the old man's tales were more than fiction; they were real. Hidden beneath the old barn, Van’s legacy is waiting: a starship, not of this world. With his combat AI, an android bird named Perry, Van takes his first steps into the wider galaxy. He soon finds that space is far busier and more dangerous than he could have ever conceived.

Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Publisher's Summary
Renegade Star: Publisher's Pack 2 contains books 3 and 4 of the Renegade Star series.
Renegade Moon, Book 3
A Renegade never surrenders.
After evading both the Union and the Sarkonian Empire, Jace and the crew are off in search of Earth. With the help of Titan, their new base of operations, Jace believes they might just have a chance. That is, if they can outrun the two armies at their backs, and somehow manage to survive a galaxy that wants them dead. Not exactly a walk in the park. But no one ever said being a Renegade was easy.
Renegade Lost, Book 4
A lost ship. An unknown civilization.
The Renegade Star is stranded, its engines totally shot, surrounded by the unknown. Floating in the dead of space, they receive a strange transmission from a nearby planet, warning them to stay away or face the consequences.
When the message mentions how this world belongs to Earth, the lost cradle of humanity, Captain Jace Hughes knows he has no choice but to investigate. With an endless snowstorm, bloodthirsty animals around every corner, and no sign of any colonies or people, the mission won't be an easy one.
Good thing they sent in the Renegade.
Warning: This book contains action, cussing, and general badassery. Listen at your own risk.

It's okay, but I won't be continuing
This was just okay, the action sequences are fairly good and the author has some original ideas but a lot of plot points and characters were ripped off from better stories and so many of the scenes were so unbelievably contrived but that wasn't the worst part.
The biggest problem is that the writing is lazy, for example, there's a heist where the main character needs to steal a "power core" from a high security planet. At no point do any of the characters ask simple questions like, how much does it weigh? How big is it? Or even what it looks like, despite having an AI that knows all these answers and would happily tell them if they asked. There are multiple situations like that where a normal person would ask for more information but simply don't and everything works out anyway.
The other major problem is the characters, they're all one dimensional and it's like they all sit in their rooms waiting for the captain to ask them to do something, they have not one, but two experts on ancient relics and technology flying around in a giant ancient ship the size of a moon and neither of them seem in the least bit interested in exploring or researching the ancient structure, they have to wait for the captain to make discoveries and tell them about it. There's very little back stories to any of the characters except the captain and even that is fairly generic and lacking any substance.

Predictably predictable
It’s ok. But you could guess the ending 5 minutes into it. It’s pretty much your average space saga.
