Disappointing voicing for the Primarchs

I think that the narrators don't do much honor to the emotions or tones of the Primarchs speeches.

Genuinely good- especially if you like Emperors Children

An amazing book from start to finish and held my attention the entire time. If you’re a fan of Fulgrim, what happens at the beginning of the Heresy and seeing the Legion slowly degrade then you’ll love this.

Skip it.

I purchased knowing that the battle of Istvan was covered. 4 legions of marines vs 3 reads like a battle report written by chatgtp. ThEy LaNdEd aNd OpEneD FiRe wiTh ThEir BolTeRs
describes legions of marines turning traitor on their brothers at the drop site massacre. Well read but disappointing to say the least.

very informative, yet dark as hell

With only a single narrator you will never have “Perfection”. Wink wink. But The narrator did a great job overall, even though a few characters didn’t quite hit the mark.

Like stated it’s very informative, especially concerning the 3rd legion, The Emperor’s Children. And of course Fulgrim. The decadent and beautifully disturbing fates that accompany them feel right on the money. The story definitely evokes emotion from the listener, as there are some tragic moments.

It could have been a bit shorter, but I’m still happy with the length. Once it gets rolling you can forgive some of the slower bits. It’s a great addition to the lore, and introduces more players to the galactic conflict, including some interesting Xenos (craftworld).

I must say, I very much dislike Fulgrim, (the character) but also feel sympathy for him. Throw in more dislike with a pinch of respect, makes him quite an interesting character.

This may be a long one

Reading a book that spends a lot of its time showing the primarchs perspective was very interesting. Maybe I’m not a fan of fulgrim and the legion but this book almost felt rushed, trying to fill in so many little bits of information but not enough to really sink your teeth into.

Quite a few characters we are already familiar with and wanted to hear more of (reading from their legion) were almost glazed over and I didn’t feel like I was connecting with any of the characters like we have in the previous books.

Aside from my personal opinions the book itself was solid and filled in more to the story of what’s happening within the isvaan system and what is happening with this legion, all in all if you struggle with the first few chapters JUST STICK IT OUT it’s you can’t miss the information this book provides so don’t skip it 👍

Fascinating

was great to get a view of the crusade and ongoing struggles of the HH from a Primarchs viewpoint. Fulgrim is such an interesting character!
