Story
When Van Tudor returns to his childhood home, he inherits more than the family farm. His grandfather used to tell him fantastic stories of spacemen and monsters, princesses and galactic knights. Little did Van realize, the old man's tales were more than fiction; they were real. Hidden beneath the old barn, Van’s legacy is waiting: a starship, not of this world. With his combat AI, an android bird named Perry, Van takes his first steps into the wider galaxy. He soon finds that space is far busier and more dangerous than he could have ever conceived.

Story
'It's been 11 months since I sat in my teenage bedroom and my mundane life was cast into madness. I suppose you could argue it was a lot longer if you include the 30-year trip back to 1986.' After his miraculous weekend in 1986, Craig Pelling returned to a future he could never have envisaged. Even by his own hapless standards, his plans have spectacularly backfired. Does he face a bleak, lonely future, or does he try to seek answers? Either way, an emotional roller coaster beckons.

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

The Apocalypse Crusade is not that book. You are not suddenly thrust into a world gone mad. Instead, you get front-row seats to how the sh-t went down. In real time you are witness to the agony and the horror…and the terrible stupidity that made it all possible.

Publisher's Summary
In 2061 a young scientist invents a time machine to fix a tragedy in his past. But his good intentions turn catastrophic when an early test reveals something unexpected: the end of the world.
A desperate plan is formed: recruit three heroes, ordinary humans capable of extraordinary things, and change the future.
Safa Patel is an elite police officer, on duty when Downing Street comes under terrorist attack. As armed men storm through the breach, she dispatches them all.
'Mad' Harry Madden is a legend of the Second World War. Not only did he complete an impossible mission - to plant charges on a heavily defended submarine base - but he also escaped with his life.
Ben Ryder is just an insurance investigator. But as a young man, he witnessed a gang assaulting a woman and her child. He went to their rescue and killed all five.
Can these three heroes, extracted from their timelines at the point of death, save the world?

Good story, a lot of repetition
Really enjoyed the story. The main thing that actually made me cringe after a while, was that there is so much repetition; I nearly rage quit. I think if I hear one more time that 'he is Ben Ryder, ...' I'm going to lose it; you'll know what I mean when you listen. Don't let it put you off though, it's a good story.

Yes, My cup of tea.
I loved the story and how it unfolded. loved the connection of the characters. Great interactive personalities. Even the interaction and power undercurrent of who would have the last word (dig), added to the un written psycology of the characters. The high energy battles were very well written to let the reader have a full view and some questions to ponder. Loved the reinvention of time travel lines.

Fantastic
I can not believe the bad reviews for this book, I couldn’t put it down, infact I listened to it twice Carl Prekopp was so good with the narrative as well, he bought out the humour in the book, all I can say is, give it a go, I’m sure if you like books with time travel, quirky characters, and some war type action you will love it, you will need to read the second book which brings it all together there is also a third book coming out. ( can’t wait)

A remarkably well thought out journey through the possibilities of time travel!
I absolutely loved this book, the following two books are brilliant as well.
I powered through them with never a dull moment, the characters are wonderfully real and authentic, especially the protagonists, I will miss then now that I’ve completed the series.
I’d love to hear more of their adventures.
5 out of 5.

Just poor writing.
I wasn't expecting brilliance but this title really disappointed. The story is infantile, repetitive and - even for SF/Fantasy - illogical. Feeling something for the characters is necessary for empathy but the two main characters in Extracted are foul-mouthed sociopaths. Yes, I know people can and do swear a lot but it's boring after about eight minutes. Sadly, this book is much longer than that. In the hands of a better writer the concept might have had legs but the mysterious Haywood might be hiding for a reason I think. The vocal performance is professional and clever but even the narrator seems to get trapped in the rhythmic dullness of the story and characters.
Avoid!
