Publisher's Summary

Dante is Chapter Master of one of the noblest but most troubled Chapters of Space Marines in the Imperium: the Blood Angels. From the time of his birth in the rad-scarred wastes of Baal Secundus, he was destined for glory and strife.

From his apotheosis to Scout, to the hive cities of Armageddon and the alien menace of the Cryptus system, Dante has waged war against all the enemies of the Imperium. He has witnessed the divine, and struggled against the darkness within all sons of Sanguinius. Longer lived than any other Chapter Master, this is his chronicle, his great and storied legend.

epic!!!

Couldn't get enough of this one! Really loved hearing about Dantes journey to become a space marine and I'm not much of a blood angels fan.

One of the easiest audio books to listen to. the combo of present day Dante and kid Dante was a great way to tell the story.

Really good, well written and very well read.

One of the best audio books from the Warhammer Universe that I've listened to. The way the narrator reads this novel was brilliant. The character building that was done in this book was excellent. Didn't want to stop listening.

Amazing

I loved this book! it's a coming of age story for the young boy Luis into becoming Dante, the chapter master of blood angels. This is a truly great book that I can't recommend enough.

Wow.. just, wow.

Very few series of entertainment in my life have ever warranted 5 stars. The Witcher books, 2018 God of War game on the PS4, and well, this.

The entire Novel is completely breathtaking. It takes a chapter or two to really get into it. But once Lewis meets the other boys, things seriously kick off. The voice acting in this one is absolutely astonishing. Much more believable than D.o.B. Mephiston doesn't sound so 1930's british. Dante commands respect and earns his badge with absolute honour.
I'm not joking when I say, that this is the best 40k Novel that I've ever read. hats off to you, Guy Haley. and also hats off to Gareth Armstrong for the amazing narrating. Well done lads, truly, well done.

Exceptional

was initially unsure how a character focused story would unfold but this story was exceptional and foundational in understanding the Blood Angels.

Great book

Captures the essence of 40k and this character very entertaining and interesting novel even if it is clearly trying to get you to buy the overpriced model.

An amazing story, but come on Gareth

Gareth Armstrong is an ok narrator, he’s not completely terrible but bearable, I’d recommend that you listen to his audiobooks in succession otherwise you’ll realise how much better others are.

He just lacks emotion, during scenes that would otherwise be full of passion there’s a dull feeling.

Other than the narrator it’s a fantastic story, one where you actually get glimpses into the black rage, you get to put yourself in Sanguinius’ place abroad the vengeful spirit, for a brief second you’re there.
