A bit long winded
The story has a good beginning and middle but it just drags on and on and why is that the heroine be an absolute bitch for, i know she suppose to be the "Chosen" one but she doesn't have to be acting like a drill Sargent and she seems to enjoy inflicting pain, and the monologue gods it keeps on and on. The only think that save this story for me is The Narrator Caitlin Davies you are a delight to listen too, you remind me of Elizabeth Evans, you make the characters believable thank you x

Great Book one
This is a great first story. The story line is building and it sucks you in.. Narration is good, but is let down a little by the narrator announcing the different chapters. The emphasis is on what is happening or happened not on sexual conquests. Had a few laughs at, the main character learning about a new culture and new language. There is some swearing, however it is not over the top. Looking forward to book 2.

Loved it
A unique and enthralling plot, with interesting characters. The narration is often emotive and engaging, however there are moments of stiltedness. This might be used to reflect speaking in a second language, which is understandable and even commendable, but sometimes it spills over. Get past that and you'll find this book to be overall outstanding. I can't wait to start the second book.

Good listen
Well developed characters with lots of fantasy and action thrown in . Female led. have only listened to this first one in the series but it's definitely worth it.

Not my typical fantasy but a great listen

Hugely addictive and very entertaining
Great story, somewhat predictable but really grasping with lots of humour. Characters develop over the course of the book and you come to appreciate the heroine more. Cant wait for the next one.
Really well narrated by Caitlin Davies, though sounds a little robotic at times (to match the characters I guess).

great characters and story
I really enjoyed the story and the funny way the characters interact.
The only down side is that the narrator sounds very robotic sometimes and doesn't pronounce her T's properly. There is a difference between metal and medal.
