Publisher's Summary

In a land where magic is might, Catalia Fisa is the mightiest of them all....

Catalia Fisa, Lost Princess, has been running from destiny her whole life. Yet deep down, she has always believed that the prophecy shadowing her every step is inescapable: her unimaginable power will bring unfathomable disaster.

But now her newfound loved ones are caught between the shadow of Cat's tortured past and the threat of her world-shattering future. Although it may be that this, even with all her power, is still the one battle she cannot win, Cat's determined not to go down without a fight.

As the realms descend into all-out war, Cat knows she must embrace the power at her command. With Griffin by her side and Gods willing, perhaps she can emerge victorious in this fiery forging of a new Kingdom.

im not sure if the narrator or the heroine thats killing it for me...it's a great storyline but i just cant like Kat. she is flighty, rude and childish all at the same time.

Good writing

Not as good as the first book in terms of the story and pacing but well-written with great characters and a bit of raunch (not for everyone but I happen to enjoy it)

I liked it

A bit more action packed than the last book. Glad to see Selena and the rest of Cat’s circus family make an appearance in the book.

Good story but abusive relationship

I enjoyed the world building and story itself. I don't mind the raunchiness of the sex scenes but the way Griffin treats Cat is abusive. (Minor spoilers ahead) The book begins with him in a violent rage where he pushes her about, rips the bedding off her to expose her and make her vulnerable and destroys their room because he finds out a secret she kept from him. Gee, wonder why she kept it secret if this was his reaction?! Then he gaslights her into believing it's her fault he went into a rage and decides she needs to be 'punished' with some BDSM sex. He doesn't discuss this with her, doesn't set boundaries or a safe word. Just does it. Gaslighting, jealously, man-handling, controlling behaviour and then over-the-top unhealthy obsessive love of the "I'd die without you, I'm never letting you go, I'll lock you in a cage to keep you safe" type is the way their relationship seems to operate. Is this meant to be sexy or appealing for the reader?? If I were Cat and this was real life I'd be getting a restraining order on him.

I kept with the book because I liked the narrative and was hoping there would be some character growth for Griffin. There was...a bit...sort of, and the story is engaging enough that I feel I need to see how the series ends.

hmmmm

really wish cat would remember her invisability more often just saying a giant invisable snake would have made the fight alot quicker and lessssss painfull. seeing as its an ability she has had for ever her usage is ... well lacking.
