Publisher's Summary

Virus. Chaos. Survival. Alienated in a world where he doesn't fit in, Christian Black survives because he's different. Then the virus came, and made the world turn different, too. Now people are dying by the million. Food supplies are short. Riots are blazing through the streets, and Christian's only goal is to keep his family alive. But safety lies far from the city, and just getting out will be tougher than anyone knows.

Ok for a short story

the story was a quick listen. the kid was obviously street-smart, despite being a bit psychotic. I could predict the ending with what he did with the parents. shame about the older sibling. overall, it's a good listen if you want an end-of-days 2hr story.

Great short story

Scarily prophetic for a story from 2016. Just change H5N1 to SARS-CoV-2 and you have a current story that plays into some of the conspiracies surrounding Covid-19.

A great short story on its own, and an interesting beginning to a series.

A good little book

This was an enjoyable short story, easy to listen to, and equally able to stand on its own or be the first part of a series.

uncomfortable

the main character is uncomfortable to read about. he swings between sociopathic and generic, but in a way that feels overly edgy.

Interesting start

Lots of unanswered questions which make me keen to listen to the next book. Great storyline as usual.
