Great book but formatting a little off
Found this book really useful and think self management is a useful part of it. The practice sections were useful though they are hard to find again and re-reading sections is hampered y calling all chapters in the audio book Chapter 1, 2. 3, etc. could they be re-named? Just a quibble though as the whole book was really helpful.

Meditative
Narration and content was of a medtitatove tone. Hard to listen to in the car due to lack of engagement. Better to listen to later at night.

Everyone would benefit from this book
Lots of useful strategies for living a meaningful and intentional life. There were quite a few guided ‘meditations/exercises’ that would be most beneficial to do when you can commit to them.
I think the world would be a much better place if everyone read this book around every 6 months!

Brilliant and practical instructions. Invaluable
This is a repeat listen and read book with invaluable wisdom, insights and practical instructions from Rick Hanson.
Rick has a very easy to listen to voice. The book is well structured and broad ranging to cover different aspects of self development which enables self understanding, self awareness and how to see, hear, think and feel differently and respond better to what life brings along.
Neuro science comes to the fore along with aspects of Buddhist philosophy including leaning into suffering.
Will listen again and again to this wonderful book

Worst Narrated audiobook ever
Possibly a good book, feels very generic. But the reading makes it unlistenable. It is like listening to a mediation tape for 8 hours.
