Publisher's Summary

Modern science and classic spiritual traditions agree: regulating the breath leads to radiance and wellness of body, mind, and spirit. With the simple teachings and cutting-edge research offered in The Tibetan Yoga of Breath, you can start thriving just by integrating breathwork into your daily practice.

Basic Yantra Yoga techniques - also called wind energy training - are the key to achieving this kind of vitality, down to the cellular level. Anyen Rinpoche and Allison Choying Zangmo skillfully examine the teachings of Yantra Yoga and Buddhism through the lens of Western medical science. Their wise and accessible instruction reveals practices that are nourishing and transformative, delivering dramatic results - no experience with yoga or Buddhist meditation necessary.

Good book on philosophy of breathing

I bought this book hoping for examples of practical techniques and recipes of breathing practices to help heal various physical, mental and spiritual ailments.

What I got was a book devoted to the history and philosophy of breathing practices from Tibetan Yoga, and a recommendation that if you want specifics you should find a teacher.

So this book is for those wanting a general overview of breathing in the Tibetan tradition and how it is used and what it may help you with in life. If you want specific techniques buy something else, or find a teacher! LOL

Inspiring guide for Buddhist practice and breath work

I am middle aged and have been following Buddhist teachings for a number of years. I’ve also got a keen interest in developing healthy breathing techniques. I liked how this book emphasised the importance of healthy breathing from a physiological and spiritual point of view and linked this to an authentic Buddhist path. It provides very relevant examples for modern life. No promises of quick fixes but assurances that the simple practices provided will help, moment to moment and day to day. Thank you.
