Story
Mindfulness doesn't make other people less irritating, it makes us less irritable. I understand why you do what you do, because the ego in me sees the ego in you. Each chapter in this book is an episode from the "Buddhist Boot Camp Podcast", offering food for thought about the non-judgmental benefits of recognizing and acknowledging both the ego and the divinity within us all. It's not about living in a bubble where nobody pushes your buttons—it's about getting to a point where you don't have any buttons that can be pushed.

Story
In this extensive lesson, Tenzin Gyatso beautifully elucidates the meaning of the path to enlightenment. His discourse arises from the Third Dalai Lama's brilliant and powerful work, Essence of Refined Gold, a classic text that summarizes the meaning of all Buddha's teachings. The subject of Essence is the Lam Rim, a term that literally means "stages on the spiritual path." Through his insightful exploration and interpretation of Essence of Refined Gold, the Dalai Lama speaks directly to the listener, offering spiritual advice, personal reflections, and scriptural commentary.
Publisher's Summary
The best-selling introduction to Buddhism. Every once in a while you come across an extraordinary book with the power to change your life. Buddhism For Busy People is one such book.
What does it take to be happy? We've all asked ourselves this question at some point, but few of us have found the path to lasting fulfillment.
David Michie thought he had achieved his life's goals - the high level job, the expensive city apartment, the luxury car, great holidays...but a small voice was telling him he wasn't really happy. A chance remark from a naturopath sent him to his local Buddhist centre. There, he began the most important journey of his life.
In this simple, beautifully written book, David Michie opens the door to the core teachings of Tibetan Buddhism. With wry, self-deprecating humour, he shows us how he began to incorporate Buddhist practices into his daily life. He explains how he came to understand the difference between the temporary pleasures of ordinary life, and the profound sense of well-being and heart-felt serenity that comes from connecting with our inner nature.
Please note: new audio was uploaded for this product on June 4th 2019 - additional meditations are now included at the end of the audiobook.

A more direct approach to Buddhism
Although this book provides a comprehensive understanding of Buddhism, it is a crash-course to Buddha's teachings and the very introductory explanation.
I was looking specifically for something like that and quite enjoyed the reading (read twice in a month) but if you are looking into the deeper understanding of Tibetan Buddhism, might be too superficial.
