Good story with a few issues and not very good narration

First of all the narrator has some kind of issue with diction or saliva control. Did kind of ruin it a bit.

This had the usual signature great character development and story development that Tessa Bailey is known for. And of course, the great sex.

What concerned me and I have seen in one or two of the other stories (eg the one with Duke), but I think this is the worst one is that it is starting at times to cross the boundaries into coercive control.

It’s one thing to play control games in the bedroom but forbidding your girlfriend to talk to other men and sending 10 of your friends to scare her customers away in the bar so that none of them talk to you is not bedroom hijinks

In Australia, this is called coercive control and it is illegal. My worry is that women reading this story who are being coercively controlled could continue to tell themselves that this is normal and he just loves me when in fact, he wants to control you.

Tessa you are not doing good things for women here. Usually you are!

Awesome

I enjoyed this as a great, easy, listening story. I liked the characters, and the narration was good. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Story was basic and predictable but good

I didn’t enjoy the narrators voice it sounded like she was needing to spit a lot and her character voices weren’t great.
The story was pretty basic and a bit ridiculous. But as a standard Tessa Bailey it was a fine story.

Just ok.

The main issue I had with this audiobook was with the narration - to the point where I wanted to give up several times. Alice Chapmans voices were ok, but it was the way she couldn’t enunciate properly, constantly adding ‘ah’ sounds on words ending with ‘d’ or ‘t’. It is totally bizarre and annoying and happened more and more towards the end of the story. I had already added the other books in the series to my library but I just can’t listen to this narrator again. Sorry.
