Must read

One of the most helpful and important talks I have ever listened to. It was in-depth, insightful, open minded and conversational in tone, allowing for someone with little or deep knowledge of psychology and neuroscience to understand.

Brilliant! Read if: You're a human being.

I'm struggling to cohesively express what I got from this book. This is not just for those that have difficult pasts, present or those in a point in their life where it may be difficult to say where they're aiming to be in the future (it happens, I've been there and I wish I had this book during that time, it would have made a difficult but unavoidable situation much less awful). I had a very wholesome upbringing, my parents were quite alternative as far as parents came during my childhood and they raised me based on the same schools of thought and psychological frameworks that Dr Siegel seems to practice, my partner however had a VERY different upbringing due to his race (or the racism of this country) and being the 5th child of a single mother. Believe me when I say that this book was written for the benefit of all, it slowly teaches you large concepts and enjoyably put together so that there is something that everyone can take away from it - Dr Siegel also has an extremely fresh and unique (I suspect) approach to his area of expertise, his a dude!

Exceptional book. Easy to listen to. A wonderful explanation of interpersonal neurobiology and the practical applications and benefits of understanding the science of ‘we’.

A conversation with Dr Daniel Siegel

A lovely experience to have Dr Siegel narrating this ‘book’ himself. The chapters were referred to as sessions and that’s what it felt like. A really lovely journey from beginning to end. Dr Siegel sets up the foundations for understanding the more complex concepts and provided explicits examples to support understanding through out.
Loved it :-)

Mind Blowing

His voice sent me into a mindfulness state, so calming and relaxing. As a teacher in Australia, I am naturally interested in child development, and have a natural interest for psychology to understanding human behaviours. This had me hook from the moment he spoke about attachments. My sister and I were analysising ourselves as well as my struggling students in my classroom. It was very helpful, insightful and engaging all round. These are the discussion topics that make me want to quit my job and change career. I love it!

Dr Daniel Siegel is a genius

I loved this audiobook so much. I will re-listen to this again and write notes. It is scientific, it is personal, it is wise, it is life affirming. I enjoyed Dr Daniel Siegel’s delivery of it as well. Thank you.

Provides meaning and motivation to mindfulness

Requires a fair bit of concentration. But Daniel has most amazing content and narrates it so well. It provides insight into the evolution and connections of the human brain. Then allows the reader motivation to explore personal growth through the bigger and the smaller picture of humanity and mindfulness.
