Critic Reviews

"A new book by Alain de Botton is always a treat … de Botton is literate, articulate, knowledgeable, funny and idiosyncratic." (Forbes.com)
"The Best introduction to architecture I have ever seen...[de Botton] writes with an engaging freshness...I can't recommend this book too highly. It gets just about everything right." ( The Boston Globe)
"A jewel of civility, wit and insight; de Botton has produced wondrous essays. An invitation to hyperbole...a volume to give one an expansive sense of wonder." ( The Baltimore Sun)

Wake me when it's over

Joyless academic dribble. Negative and at times arrogant. Although the philosophy is sometimes on point the analogies used we're extremely boring.
