Publisher's Summary

Do we work to live or live to work? In today's increasingly competitive and insecure economic environment, we often question the reason for work: Why am I doing this? Why is it so hard? And what can I do about it?

Work may seem just a means to an end: we do it to earn the money to enjoy life outside the workplace. Here, Timothy Keller argues that God's plan is radically more ambitious: he actually created us to work. We are to work together to make the world a better place, to help each other, and so to find purpose for our lives.

Our faith should enhance our work, and our work should develop our faith. With deep insight Timothy Keller draws on essential and relevant biblical wisdom to address our questions about work. There is grace available if we have taken the wrong attitude, idolising money and using our careers to glorify ourselves rather than God.

This book provides the foundations for a work-life balance where we can thrive both personally and professionally. Keller shows how, through excellence, integrity, discipline, creativity and passion in the workplace, we can impact society for good. Developing a better attitude toward work releases us to serve others humbly and to worship God every day and leaves us deeply fulfilled.

Wow! Great Book!

I had come to a crossroad in my life and had two options to consider. I had just become registered as an Architect in Australia and was considering whether to transition my drafting business to an Architectural Practice or go get employed by a larger firm to work as an Architect. I had so many questions in my heart that I was praying and giving to God for wisdom and guidance. One such question 'Was by Business and  Professional Objective contradictory to my beliefs, value and salvation in Jesus?'. On the recommendation of one of my mentor and elders at Creek Road Presbyterian Church, I was given a copy of Every Good Endeavour. WOW, talk about life transforming and I don't say that lightly. This book has completely changed my perspective on my work as a professional and the various entrepreneurial ventures that I am pursuing. I am so thankful that God has worked through Tim Keller and the Ministry team at Redeemer to give us this resource. Thank you so much! If you are thinking through what it means to be actively living for God where you are in your profession this is the book for you!

liberating.

a good book which helps me to overcome several misunderstandings, legalistic thoughts and confusion about my early Christian faith. I recommend every Christian read it or listen to it.
the central theme seemed a bit scattered for me but I guess if I listen again I'll get the logic a bit better.
