Story
You know, being friends with two cute boys does have its benefits. There's Danny. Danny is a golden boy in every way. He has dreamy blue eyes and blonde hair that always looks perfect, even when it's windblown or been stuck under a football helmet. He's the boy every girl crushes on. The boy I get into trouble with, the boy I fight with, the hot quarterback no girl can resist, not even me. Being with Danny is like being on an adventure. He has a bright, contagious smile and abs to die for. He's pretty much irresistible.

Story
It was supposed to be the best day of my life. But the second I got up, things started to fall apart. The kitchen just caught on fire. Flowers were from a funeral. My bride-to-be just had an allergic reaction, leaving by ambulance. Oh, and my ex-girlfriend just walked into the church. They say you have to see the signs when they are right in front of you. Maybe she was just mine to have.

Story
She's about to make a deal with the college bad boy.... Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she's carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush's attention, she'll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice, even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.

Story
Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer—they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one wonderful and terrible summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along.

Zanders: Chicago hockey isn't complete without me—everyone's favorite player to hate. I know my role, and I play it well. In fact, I thoroughly enjoy spending the majority of my game time in the penalty box before leaving the arena with a new girl on my arm each night. What I don't like is the new flight attendant on our team's private plane. She works for me, not the other way around. But I'll be sure to remind her of that, and I can guarantee, by the end of the season, she'll be begging to quit her job.

Publisher's Summary
Soon to be adapted for TV by Netflix!
Jackie does not like surprises. Chaos is the enemy! The best way to get her successful, busy parents to notice her is to be perfect. The perfect look, the perfect grades—the perfect daughter. And then . . .
Surprise #1: Jackie's family dies in a freak car accident.
Surprise #2: Jackie has to move cross-country to live with the Walters—her new guardians.
Surprise #3: The Walters have twelve sons. (Well, eleven, but Parker acts like a boy anyway.)
Now Jackie must trade in her Type A personality and New York City apartment for a Colorado ranch and all the wild Walter boys who come with it. Jackie is surrounded by the enemy—loud, dirty, annoying boys who have no concept of personal space. Okay, several of the oldest guys are flat-out gorgeous. But still annoying. She's not stuck-up or boring—no matter what they say—but proving it is another matter. How can she fit in and move on when she needs to keep her parents' memory alive by living up to the promise of perfect?

Written in 2014 but feels like it’s from the 80s
This got three stars because I listened to the whole thing. I don’t know why - maybe because I was out of credits and lazy.
This book is painful listening. The narration isn’t great, the plot is dated and predictable, and it’s filled with dated references that made me think this book was written in the 80s.

Definitely YA
I thought, seeing that it's been turned into a tv series, that this was going to be awesome. It was not. It really read like a high schooler wrote it. A junior high schooler.
The idea sounds good but the execution was poor. It read like someone's diary entries with lots of little events happening but no description. There was no atmosphere or feeling like I was there. The characters were two dimensional and not appealing at all. The parents parenting was questionable (not discussing that fact that they were drunk and under age drinking, leaving a 16 year old girl - who's new to the family- alone with two teenage boys, using the new girl to ice 200 cupcakes and the morning of the wedding). Also, who leaves a 16yr old (who you barely know) to finish off details of the wedding like seating plans, and the florist? Yeah right.
I guess this is aimed at teenagers who don't think about the overall picture, just which cute boy she's going to pick. I couldn't wait to finish it.

A more cohesive story than the Netflix version
I had already watched the whole Netflix series, so it’s always interesting to see the similarities and differences. The original story is more rounded, cohesive and whole. I enjoyed both immensely.

Cole
Though there were some questionable eyebrow raidsing parts in the book, I thought it was generally sweet and so where’s book two? I’m so in love with Cole and Jackie!

Wanted to compare
I have watched the series on Netflix that was based on this book and enjoyed both slight changes from the book not which I liked more. The book seemed more real to me anyway. Enjoy
