Publisher's Summary

Modern Man in Search of a Soul is the classic introduction to the thought of Carl Jung. Along with Freud and Adler, Jung was one of the chief founders of modern psychiatry. In this book, Jung examines some of the most contested and crucial areas in the field of analytical psychology: dream analysis, the primitive unconscious, and the relationship between psychology and religion.

Mono culture voice annoying

This is a good book and acts to critic a lot of, what the west considers, fundamental to its culture. It’s a shame the reader sounds like an American documentary presenter they should have gotten someone with a better voice for this type of book.

Gripping

Insight after insight. Throws light on some of the darker corners of the world. There's likely a chapter for everyone here.

Required reading for the Modern Man

Jung’s insights into the human psyche and what it means to be a Modern man open many doors to the questions we all face on a daily basis. This book allows us to delve deeper into these questions and understand that we aren’t alone in this quest to find our Souls - to find meaning in this world that is constantly telling us that perhaps there is none.

Bananas

All killer no filler. Jung is on fire for 9hrs straight. Unbelievable that this content exists. Every paragraph could have its own book dedicated to exploring what was said further.
Narrator gets a bit monotonous, sounds like he should be narrating a most shocking videos tv show.

A poor reading

An important and valuable book with a key message for living, delivered in a nasal American voice by a reader devoid of rhythm and phrasing. Really unfortunate.

Was critically important back in the day, not now

found the first half of it rather clinical and not relevant to what we know of how our brains work. it was phenomenal for it's time though, given it was 1933.

second half was on his story and thoughts on the human condition, a lot more usable and relevant, some gems can be found there.

book can be passed on

Yawn

Narrator was ok, found work a little yawn. Was hoping for some more profound insights from the age of psychoanalysis.
