Publisher's Summary

In Mind Gym, noted sports psychology consultant Gary Mack explains how your mind influences your performance on the field or on the court as much as your physical skill does, if not more so. Through 40 accessible lessons and inspirational anecdotes from prominent athletes - many of whom he has worked with - you will learn the same techniques and exercises Mack uses to help elite athletes build mental "muscle." Mind Gym will give you the "head edge" over the competition.

Overall some great tips and ideas

Overall I enjoyed this book during my morning runs and walks. It had some easy to use tips and ideas to improve the mindset of not only athletes yet people in general. An easy to listen to audio book although a bit repetitive at times.

Inspiring and at the same time dated

Would you consider the audio edition of Mind Gym to be better than the print version?

I actually feel that I could have learned more if I had read the book.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The conclusion did well to tie everything together. It took awhile to get to that place - it would seem he saved the best for last.

Which character – as performed by Kevin Young – was your favorite?

There were far to many to choose one. Suffice it to say they supported well his thesis throughout the book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. It takes time and it would be too deep to listen in one sitting.

Any additional comments?

This is a good book. Others who I would recommend would be Nerve by Taylor Clark and The Art of Mental Training by D.C. Gonzalez. Similar books and more to the specifics on how to better exercise and train you thoughts for daily tasks.

Ruined by awful reader

The narrator is dull beyond the scope of reality. An otherwise useful tool is completely destroyed by this poor performance by a characature of some dodgy old texan narrating a 70's movie.

Informative

Excellent motivational book. The use of influential quotes and personal experiences make the read even more enjoyable.
