Publisher's Summary

We are unavoidably hope-based creatures. Imagine two women given the same boring task to do eight hours a day in the same conditions - but you tell one woman she will be paid £15,000 for a year of this work, and you tell the other that she will be paid £15 million. Each woman in identical circumstances will be experiencing those circumstances in completely different ways, because what we believe about the future determines how we live in the present.

In this dynamic new audiobook, New York pastor and best-selling author Tim Keller explores the biblical understanding of hope. A profound grasp of what we are hopeful for, he argues, can reenergise and transform us personally; can help us face death; can influence our community practices with regard to sex, money and power; and can even be applied globally to renew our culture.

Best book I’ve found exploring faith and God

I’ve read a number of books arguing for the existence of God and the credibility of Christianity, this rates amongst the best, as it very effectively peals back thought, both religious and secular and presents things as they actually are. If you’re looking into faith or at all curious about the question of God, I’d highly recommend this book.

Great help to make sense of God

Written as a prelude to Reasons for God, this book helps make sense of God and address many barriers to faith that people might have. Highly recommended

A dense philosophical read but well worth it

This book primarily focuses on the philosophical arguments for and against various concepts that underpin both Christianity and secularism. It’s a dense read and you may have to push through at times, but the last third in particularly - which outlines why should believe in a Jesus - is a great, very convincing conclusion.

Another must read/listen classic by Tim Keller.

Very logical and persuasive arguments to support the Christian faith and Jesus as the Way, the Truth and the Life.

One of the best books I have listened to

I have listened to/ read many different books on wether or not God exists. I have also watched dozens of lectures and debates on the issue. This book is by far more intellectual, intelligently nuanced and thoroughly thought through than any other book I have read on this subject including any of Dawkins works. I highly recommend to anybody seriously interested in the subject.
