Repetitive and patronizing, very bible-bashy

The general theory behind the book is good -- but the irritating American narrator, combined with the constant references to Christianity and the bible (author seems to assume EVERYONE is religious?) is exhausting and boring.

The principles behind the love languages is great, but I feel they've tried to squeeze a (very) long book out of something that could have been explained in 2 hours or less. Couldn't bear to listen through to the end.

I'd recommend you just read about lover languages online or watch a docco on youtube -- this is too lengthy and irritating.

Instant results in our home

Started implementing the strategies in the book this afternoon. Sent the children to bed half an hour ago and have not heard any of them going to a sibling to fill an emotional need like they usually would.

pretty good. bit churchy. could be distilled

The main points are good (about the love languages). but then the authors starts on about parenting more generally and then brings good into it. not my cup of tea. would have been better if he kept to his love languages s bit more I think

it makes sense!

I love the 5 language and it does make sense to me. I would have given 5 stars but I didn't like the mention of punishment and manipulation of children how ever gentle it is, I'm just not a believer of such and such.

some great information, but far too preachy

I actually learnt as much about my love language as I did my child's. I believe there are some great learnings within this book. however, there is way too much talk of the bible and God. The epilogue is far too preachy.

Great book. Awful voice.

An excellent book, full of great real life examples and tips. The voice, reading the book is drawling and robotic, only bearable because the content was so good.
