Story
‘Harry’ Harris—Thai Cave Rescuer, joint Australian of the Year—has an unusual idea of fun: he crawls though pitch-black, confined caves, deep underground and usually underwater. To most, that’s a nightmare. To him, it’s recreation. He’s prepared for all conceivable risks, he’s completely focused. And the discipline and danger involved leave him better prepared for everyday life. In this ultimate armchair adventure, Harry takes us into the lives of other ‘risk-takers’, to find out why they do what they do.

Story
One of the biggest myths that plagues the business world today is that our ability to network depends on having the “gift-of-gab”. You don’t have to be outgoing to be successful at networking. You don’t have to become a relentless self-promoter. In fact, you don’t have to act like an extrovert at all. Matthew Pollard, an introvert himself, draws on over a decade of research and real-world examples to provide an actionable blueprint for introverted networking.

Story
At the school gate, when she accidentally kissed one new friend on the nose and called another a "beautiful man-horse", Rachael realized that small-town France could hardly be more different to Australia. The smell of cigarettes replaced the tang of bone-broth and sprouted sourdough, the neighbors sometimes came to blows and under no circumstances would anyone wear active wear in public. Muddling through in terrible French pushed Rachael's family to their limits. Some days, everybody cried and ate their feelings with croissants. But the town of Sommières embraced these ragtag Australians.

We are who we are because of our experiences and pasts, and this guides our habits and behaviors more than anything else. Story
It’s 2006, and terror scaremongering in the media has rattled the residents of sleepy, suburban Dunlop Crescent. When a Maori family moves into number 14, the local cranks assume they are Middle Eastern terrorists hell-bent on destroying the Australian way of life. Rumour has it that they plan to turn their house to face Mecca. This sets off an extraordinary chain of events that embroils the entire neighbourhood as well as cynical media figures, bumbling antiterrorist police and a gang of white supremacists with a radical plan to wake up the country and ‘preserve Australian values’.

Publisher's Summary
All you really need to do is accept the moment fully. You are then at ease in the here and now and at ease with yourself.
Throughout the spiritual classic The Power of Now are specific practices and clear keys that show us how to discover for ourselves the 'grace, ease, and lightness' that comes when we simply quiet our thoughts and see the world before us in the present moment.
Practicing the Power of Now is a carefully arranged series of excerpts from the The Power of Now that directly gives us those exercises and keys. Return to those words, reflect on the words, reflect even on the space between the words and - maybe over time, maybe immediately - you'll discover something of life-changing significance.

Uplifting book with sleep-inducing reading
I am a great admirer of Eckhardt Tolle as a spiritual writer, and read The Power of Now years ago. This book has similar material in it, and I was glad to be reminded of these themes. However, I would have preferred it to be read by someone else. Tolle himself is not good at putting it across - I found his reading rather soporific.

One of the spiritual classics of our time.
Eckhart Tolle indeed drew from a multitude of spiritual sources to create The Power of Now. But that is easily forgiven, because his work is a seamless masterpiece that overarches cultures and religions and reaches to the profound core of existence and consciousness.
The present moment is all that ever really exists. The past only exists in memories and histories. The future only ever exists as a potential.
I like the physical book version of The Power of Now. But I've found the audio version of "Practicing the Power of Now" to be better as something to listen to whilst walking or running.
It's the kind of audiobook that certainly requires more than one listen I've found. Even after perhaps 10 listens, I'm still learning from it's content with each subsequent listen.

Thank you
Thank you Eckhart Tolle. I now listen to this every day as a reminder of how easy it can be to live presently, consciously, in The Now. I play chapter 9 ritually, especially as a person living with Mental illness, it helps to get out of the head and into the soul. I'm so happy he narrated because his voice is soothing and gentle, so too is his message.

Life changing
This book is the short version of The power of NOW which is one of the best or is the best book I have ever listened to/read. I struggle with reading but I loved this book so much that as soon as I finished it I went out and purchased a copy. I used to be an alcoholic, used to smoke weed and marijuana and had been diagnosed with ADHD and was on medication. Through the help of this book, Meditation and Reiki I have been completely sober for over 3 weeks that's how life changing this book has been. Through the teachings in this book I have reprogrammed my unhealthy unconscious programing and live a conscious life. Thank you Eckhart Tolle for this magical book 🙏😇💎😍
