Publisher's Summary

James Phelps explores all the questions that we can only barely imagine the answers to about Australia's toughest jails. This is a brutal and honest account of life inside Australia's toughest jails, and all is not as you would expect.

Do women rape each other? Do guards really trade 40-cent phone cards for sex? And do you think the most dangerous inmate in Australia is a man?

This is the most comprehensive ever account of women's prison life yet. You will hear about rapists, drug dealers, fallen celebrities and Australia's most feared prisoner: the self-mutilating murderer, Rebecca Butterfield.

Needs a better Narrater

The Narrater used a posh, almost plum in mouth 'accent when speaking as a woman, not quite the way you want to hear someone talk8ng about drugs, dildos and sex. Making it a struggle to get through.
Might have been better if narrated by a female with a broad Aussie accent.

Great story - did not like the narration

While the stories were interesting I believe a female narrator or at least a mix would have made this easier to listen to
I also had problems with the download

Great book

Amazing book and the narration really suits the book. Will read the other titles from the same writer & narrator.

Very interesting. However!!!

I feel like the narrating should’ve been done by a male and a female, you made females sound weak and vulnerable and pathetic when that’s not how we are at all, overall the book was amazing very insightful and very interesting but I think if you gonna write about women’s prisons and the women that are in prison then you should probably use a woman’s voice for those parts.

Condescending narrator.

Interesting book.
Needs a better narrater.
Sounded like he was reading a kids book. Sounded quite condescending towards women.

Narration is grating

the 'female' voice' the male narrator puts on for female characters is totally irritating and third rate.

Hello

Didn’t love the narrator but the book in itself was great. The stories and people are nuts
