They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

Yet, Rumelt shows that there has been a growing and unfortunate tendency to equate Mom-and-apple-pie values, fluffy packages of buzzwords, motivational slogans, and financial goals with “strategy”.

Interesting and not too bad to take in
I found this book easier to listen to and comprehend than some others. Some others are not suited to an audiobook format when they read out lots and lots of numbers that we are supposed to pay attention to.

Excellent if you don't have no exposure to finance
What did you like most about Financial Intelligence?
As a broad basic overview it is excellent.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The profit and loss statement was my favourite, although the balance sheet came in a close second. Seriously though, why does Audible continually ask questions like this for non-fiction books??? I think they do it just to push my buttons. I mean I love Audible, but crap like asking non relevant questions for certain types of books should be an easy fix.
What does Tom Zingarelli bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
There is an accompanying PDF, so even if you listen to the audio you can always refer to the PDF where required.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Seriously? Seriously???? Yup, when i read financial statements I always cry, unless of course they are the financial statements of our local or federal government, then I just laugh at the abuse.
Any additional comments?
I have a background in finance and bought this as a brief refresher. For that purpose it was a waste of time. If you do not have a background, or only have a brief exposure to finance/ accounting then this book is an excellent start. Happy listening.

Would not recommend. Didn't take anything away
Was very boring to listen to, didn't learn anything. Struggled to finish. Don't feel like I could apply anything to my work. Was read in a very monotone voice.
