Publisher's Summary

Zoe, a sometime artist from California, has recently lost her husband. Martin, an engineer from Yorkshire, is alone after a messy divorce. Both have ended up in Cluny, central France, on a separate journey to walk the Camino: 2,000 kilometres to Santiago, in northwestern Spain.

The Camino changes you, it's said. It's a chance to find a new version of yourself. But can these two very different people find each other?

Deserves its own movie.

Loved it. Inspiration, wit, great character development and fun without being a Disney romance. I fell across this audiobook at the same time as meeting a friend’s husband who walked the French way following his son’s death. Graeme is a favourite author of mine. We have even met. I lost my love of 42 years in 2021. The book and the mission for change has inspired me to take on the challenge my soul needs. I’ve even rung my travel agent. Buen Camino!

Fun, thoughtful, and motivating

The story grew on me. Initially I “didn’t like “ Zoe, and was unsure if I would continue listening. However as it progressed I be came engrossed and looked forward to hearing some more. I now believe that this was in someway almost a parallel of where the characters were personally, their unease with themselves and their lives, relationships. As they grew my connection to them grew, and like them I undertook some introspection. So lots of layers to enjoy. I didn’t choose the book on its subject , the Carmine, but now am looking forward to finding more about it, and other trails.

A Wonderful Journey

My wife and I loved listening to this audio book and were carried along all the way by its inspirational story, likeable characters, superb performances and positive values. Even though we could never see ourselves walking the Camino, we felt our lives had been improved through the process of just listening to this pilgrimage.

Delightful story

A delightful story that kept me interested until the end. Zthe narration was lovely, with two different voices telling perspective from two different characters. Easy storyline, not a challenging read, but a lot of fun.

Memories came back

Thank you, the story took me back to my first walk in 2013 and the friendships that were made and still survive and grow to this day.

Didn’t love it didn’t hate it!

A bit slow going. Sometimes frustrated with story line and characters. Good ending. Overall a pleasant experience.

Enter the Camino de Santiago!!

I so enjoyed this book and wished I had had the opportunity to walk this trail. It was a lovely jaunt to take with Zoe and Martin, hearing about the view, the hostels, the food, the people even in a fictional way. I immediately downloaded the follow up.

Fun and creative story

Loving this story, written from point of view of two people who keep crossing paths along the French Camino, their opinions of each other and their encounters with many characters on the way. Almost a romance, but is it? I'm near the end and can't wait to find out if they get together.
