Publisher's Summary

What is it about men anyway? Bad cars, bad jobs, even bad teeth - nothing convinces them that they can't snare a size-two babe with a D-cup chest. And after way too many Internet dates with men named "luvstick" and "bigdaddy182", Lucy Rothschild should know.

But sitting across from her now is "hardluvnman", and he seems different - sensitive, honest, and hot! He says he's a plumber while Lucy claims she's a nurse. She's really a mystery writer, dating online while researching her next book. Hey, everyone lies a little, don't they?

But Quinn is really an undercover cop hunting down a serial killer, and he sees Lucy as his top suspect. While he could really go for this smart, sexy woman with the killer bod - if that's the only thing "killer" about her - he knows he needs to wine and dine her and discover the truth. Hey, he realizes the dating scene can be deadly - but this is ridiculous!

love interest hates "females"

I liked the idea behind this but the misogyny at the start in the male POV was so old-fashioned I had to check what year the book was published

Story a solid 4 until the last hour

I'm not a big fan of when a protagonist suddenly does something real stupid for plot, this one does. It also doesn't tie up all the loose ends or explain aftermath at all. It was fine really.

interesting premmise

This book had an interesting premise but I just couldn't get into the characters. While the story was good, I wasn't sucked in. I actually fell asleep twice while listening, during what was supposed to be the climax, and had to rewind. to be honest, I'm still not sure if this one has a HEA between the characters. I gave up rewinding to listen out for it.
The narrator does a good job and her diction is crazy good. I could hear every 'h' in words like 'where' or 'when'.

Good Story, Narration was weird at times

Narrator put emphasis on words in odd places. Not sure if this is due to not preparing for her recording or just her quirk. It was annoying and distracting, but at other times I loved her narration.
