NOW HOLD ON BECAUSE I'M ABOUT TO GUSH HERE.......
Just sometimes a book comes along that I am SO enjoying that I have to stop it just to savor and prolong the journey it's taking me on..... well, this was one of those listens. There really wasn't a lot of Summary to go on so I took a chance on it..... and WOW-WOW-WOW the beauty, passion and depth to this love story just blew my mind.
Liz is a strong, independent and feisty Singer who's beautiful inside as well as outside but she doesn't see it because she's too busy caring for her oh so loveable, but mentally damaged, older brother and she is angry and haunted by tragedy in her past and blames her Dad for all of it. They're on a Tour Bus (driven by her Uncle) with the rest of the Band - her two (male) best friends heading to the next small gig but Liz's fate and everyone's future is about to change when she offers a gorgeous stranger with a guitar a ride.
Cannon is handsome, talented, cool and oh so perfect in every way.... (sigh) I loved loved loved him and Liz brought out the very best in him and together they made great music between them, faced her demons (and his in the form of an ex Fiancé), supported each other, made beautiful, emotional and passion-filled love to each other and got to see a perfect HEA ending for themselves in this intensely beautiful love story. The first half was told as Liz's POV and the second half was thankfully joint.
S E Hall's gift of telling a story has made her an auto download for me and that, coupled with Kitty Bang's brilliant narration (and singing) who changed mere (but awesome) words and created a living and breathing vision of a close but emotionally dysfunctional group of friends, a family split by heartache and two destined lovers and I was transfixed listening to their story as it all seemlessly played out. There was laughter, tears, heartache and joy.
Worth a credit? It smoothly unfolded and didn't rush to get to the passion or sex but laid down a strong foundation and then built and built and built.... emotions, heartache, drama and love in it's many many forms. So, worth a credit?...... YES, worth a re-listen?..... YES and worth 5 stars?..... YES.

I kind of struggled with this one
Way too many corny lines. The male lead's character was over the top in love and just corny and sugary sweet. Not that I have a problem with being mushy, but I prefer a nice even balance. Because most men simply do not act like this and certainly a hot rocker doesn't act like this. I got a little excited the first time they had sex. He got a little raunchy and that was hot. But then the sugary, diabetic sweetness came back and I can't count how many times I rolled my eyes listening to this book. Some parts also seemed a bit disjointed. All in all, it was just ok.
