Zudem ist ihr Roman eine Fortsetzung der Waringham-Saga, nur dass sich dieses Mal alles um John, den jüngsten Spross von Robin of Waringham dreht. Im ersten Teil geht es vor allem um die Sturm-und-Drang-Zeit des jüngsten Waringham-Sohnes: Als John erfährt, dass für ihn eine kirchliche Laufbahn vorgesehen ist, begehrt der 13jährige Junge auf und geht nach Winchester an den Hof König Henrys V. Dort angekommen macht John nicht nur eine erstaunliche Karriere, sondern ist schon bald in den Krieg gegen Frankreich involviert...
