Publisher's Summary

Their love was always in the cards.
He should have thrown her out. But when club owner Alexander Lavoie catches a mysterious blonde counting cards at his vingt-et-un table, he's more intrigued than angry. He has to see more of this beauty - in his club, in his office, in his bed. But first he'll have to devise a proposition she can't turn down.
Gossip said he was an assassin. Common sense told her to stay away. But Angelique Archer was desperate, and Lavoie's club offered a surefire way to make quick money - until she got caught. Instead of throwing her out, though, the devil offers her a deal: come work for him. Refusing him means facing starvation, but with a man so sinfully handsome and fiercely protective, keeping things professional might prove impossible....

Great story! Excellent Narration!

I really love Kelly Bowen's books! She writes such great stories. I want to see more of her on audible!

This was a really good story. I liked Angelique a lot. Love a heroine that is good with numbers. She was strong, smart, witty and beautiful. Alex was great too. Rich, handsome, strong with the perfect amount of arrogance. They made a great couple together. The sex was hot and steamy but didn't take away from the story. I was very nicely written. There wasn't a lot of angst either, which is a bonus.

The story line and plot was great. There was mystery, murder, gaming hells, and romance! It was great. A lot of great dialogue throughout.

As for the narration, it was fantastic. I love Ashford McNab's narrations. She does such a good job on all the voices and accents! She has a great reading voice too.

Duke of My Heart is still my favorite!

Awesome read and Awesome narration..

This was just as great as the other two books. It’s about mystery, murder, romance, sex, all rolled into one and so well written I hated to see it end. And, oh no, it’s a three book series? Although, I guess that’s for the best. It’s so much better to read a trilogy than to try and read 20 or 25+ books in a series. I can’t wait to see what Ms. Bowen writes next. I hope it has all the elements this trilogy had. It's so much better than a plain old romance.

I loved Angelique being a math genius and Alex being so amazed by it. I loved how they met and her fear of being thrown out of his gaming hell, and Alex being so drawn to her it scared him to death. And I loved the mystery about what happened to her family’s fortune.

I couldn’t stand Angelique’s idiot brother Gerald, or his two friends Seaton (creep) and Burleigh (soooo whiny.) Ms. Bowen wrote them both perfectly.

It was nice to see “Duchess” and Alderidge from the first book, and I adored Roderick, he was such a cute kid.

LOL, and I loved the part in the Tower of London. Alex and Angelique were simply marvelous together. I just loved every word in this book. Especially what happened to the bad guys.

There was some seriously explicit sex in this book, but NOT erotic. It was very romantic. And there was no swearing to speak of.

As to the narrator: Ashford McNab is awesome! Her voices and emotions are amazing, voices that match the characters perfectly. Seaton sounded like an arrogant jerk and Burleigh was so whiny sounding, it was too funny. And Alex sounded sexy as hell. Perfect narration.

Entertaining but needs a better narrator

My only criticism is Ashford McNab's male hero voice. It's almost completely monotone which means all attempts at humour and witty dialogue fall flat between the hero and heroine. I had to keep trying to imagine how his lines would *actually* be delivered by a real person. A monotone voice might work for certain types of character, but not for Alexander Lavoie.
