Great story with excellent narration

I love Helen Duff as a narrator. I’ve listened to her do another series and she’s excellent. This promises to be a really great series. I feel like I know these characters so well. Great characterisation.

Enjoyable

I was not expecting it to end how it did. Seemed a little abrupt or left for a follow on book. so caught me off guard. But I did enjoy the book and it's characters. easy read

Great Series

Really nice listen. I have listened to all four books in the series and they flowed so well it could have been one big book. Nothing earth shattering but I was hooked on getting to know what happened with each of the characters. Thoroughly enjoyed the series.

A brilliant book

This is the first book I have read by this author & it's the start of wanting more.
The storyline is easy to get into and the characters very strong and likeable. The historical values are I believe very close to how things were when the convicts arrived here on our soil. Scenes described so well you could be walking the hot dusty streets of the Rocks & Sydney with the characters.
Awesome book just going to get the next in the series, enjoy 😀

A good read

Great narrator. I enjoyed the story and want to know what happens next, so I'll buy the next book. I only gave the story 4 stars because it's probably not going to become classical literature or win a Pulitzer, but it was still a quality read. Engaging all the way through.

I want more

A beautifully written story about 4 young women who become friends in Newgate prison and get deported to NSW. A story of friendship and courage. I couldn't stop listening. Finished abruptly...now I need to get the second book. Loved it. Great narration.

Wonderful

I fell in love with the characters and was disappointed when suddenly the story ended. Looking forward to reading more about these fabulous women in a sequel.
