Publisher's Summary
What if you could go back in time and change the course of history? What if the watershed moment you could change was the JFK assassination? 11.22.63, the date that Kennedy was shot - unless....
King takes his protagonist Jake Epping, a high school English teacher from Lisbon Falls, Maine, 2011, on a fascinating journey back to 1958 - from a world of mobile phones and iPods to a new world of Elvis and JFK, of Plymouth Fury cars and Lindy Hopping, of a troubled loner named Lee Harvey Oswald and a beautiful high school librarian named Sadie Dunhill, who becomes the love of Jake's life - a life that transgresses all the normal rules of time.
With extraordinary imaginative power, King weaves the social, political and popular culture of his baby-boom American generation into a devastating exercise in escalating suspense.

The voice performances!
The novel itself is fantastic - thrilling and engaging.
However, I did find some of the 'voices' of the characters jarring in the reading of the novel.

Tough read
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I really want to enjoy this book, but there are long interludes of excruciatingly boring and repetitive story. I haven't even finished the book yet, and I find myself skipping entire portions trying to get back to the main storyline.
If you’ve listened to books by Stephen King before, how does this one compare?
Similar to Under the Dome and other King titles.

Thumbs up!
New job, truck driver, lots of free time. After getting tired of podcasts, I chose to give a chance to audiobooks. Always been a King's fan. Read many of his books, and 11.22.63 was next on my list. I'll never forget this experience. The narrator was brilliant!! It was like watching a movie all the time. The story is so good and King does one more fantastic job with his very detailed narration. He goes so deeply on each character that makes me feel like I have some connection with them. I'm not a guy that cries, but even shed some tears in some parts, specially in the end. Perfect conclusion for a perfect story! Going to listen to Salem's Lot now!

What a ride.
I loved this audio book. The story is a roller coaster and the performance made me cry (I’m a 43 yr old father of teenagers!). I was in it the whole time. 30 hours wasn’t enough. Thank you Mr King.

The narration was excellent
Fantastic narration but sometimes the change in tone of voice, like they slipped in an edit was a bit jarring. But the accents and the emotion that came through was fantastic

Derry chapters were some of the best story telling I've read.
This book will also make you think about life and your loved ones.

Great Hunchthink, But….
The concept and narrative and narration is very well done, but I can’t help but feel that Sadie’s character, despite her youth, was too needy in the sexual department. It’s a distraction from a while well-balanced character, seems to be a pit-fall moment every time I hear a ham-fisted want for sexual pleasure. It’s too much like a bad romance novel.
Everything else is an an absolute “down the rabbit hole” exercise in time travel and engaging to make you think what you’d do in Jake’s shoes. I’d recommend it, but I wish King would have put aside this sort of character development more in the backseat and made it more about Jake/George’s mission.
