Publisher's Summary

"I wasn't demon enough to defeat my brother before. Things have changed."
As the veil begins to fall and the demons bleed through onto the streets of Boston, Muse knows the battle is lost before it's even begun.
To make matters worse, Adam and the Institute have captured Akil at a time when the city has never needed him more. Muse believes Akil's incarceration is a ruse, because if he truly is at the mercy of the Institute, she must choose which side she'll fight for. Human or demon?
The princes are coming. Muse's immortal half-brother, Valenti, leads the charge. The Institute is not ready, the people of Boston are not prepared, but one man is. Stefan knows what it will take to beat back the netherworld. Will his demon allow him the freedom to right his wrongs?
Muse's loyalty will be tested. To save those she loves, she must give up that which she cherishes most: her humanity.
The Mother of Destruction is about to go nuclear.

Great series

What a hell of a life Muse is having. I like happy endings hopefully that will happen in the next book cause this one sure doesn’t have one.

Compelling, heart breaking

Oh no no please bring back Ahkeel I can't believed his gone. The mother of destruction wasn't able to save his love, this story is addictive, mesmerising and compelling and Hollie Jackson is one of the best narrator i have heard so far, she brings so
Much raw emotion in her voice and brings each character to life. Thanks Pippa for inviting us into your fantastical and magical world. X

Great Book #4

Love this series. I haven't read one in this series in several months, but it was easy to pick up the story where the last book left off. There is enough mention of previous events to bring me back in line. Pippa is an excellent author. She does a great job with the story line and the characters. The narrator does a great job as well.

EXCELLENT. GOOD PLOT AND ACTION PACKED.

Most enjoyable. Muse is still going strong helping the humans from the bad demons. Fast paced and full of intrigues. Muse is still struggling with her love for Stefan and her emotional ties with Akil . A very heartbreaking choice for her. Adam and the institute is are still trying to rid Boston of demons and the battle was terrific. I am looking forward to the conclusion in the next book. Pippa DaCosta is an excellent writer and Hollie Jackson narrated/performed the book very well.

almost love it!

I really do love the storyline throughout this series and for the most part think it's fantastic. But the books do have a tendency to go on about the insignificant in parts making me feel like screaming get on with it! the overall story is great and I will continue to read more, but I do find it as much frustrating as I enjoy listening to it.

the narrator I have to say is fantastic, she reads every character so well, they are individual and distinct when often, by other narrators characters can sound like the same person.

the Muse and Stefan relationship is driving me nuts, how many times is she going to leave him behind or abandon him, seriously. while I get how messed up her relationship with Akiel is and that it clouds her thinking, come on the Stefan thing has been drawn out way too long for my liking, and yet I'll have to keep listening to find out if it gets resolved or will continue to do my head in! clever lol
