The answer lies in the new Dragonlance novella by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, which gazes into the future of Caramon and his mage-son, and into the dark nether-past of Raistlin. Tales of sea monsters, dark elves, ice bears, hideous hydra-headed serpents, and loathsome draconian troops.
Further adventures of the kender Tas; the innkeepr Otic and young Tika; the dwarf Flint and Tanis, leader of the companions; Caramon and Raistlin, twin brothers, one, a genial warrior, the other, a sickly magician and scholar.

The Northmen don't realize yet that this is going to be more than just a plundering raid.
Publisher's Summary
Lifelong friends, they went their separate ways. Now they are together again, though each holds secrets from the others in his heart. They speak of a world shadowed with rumors of war. They speak of tales of strange monsters, creatures of myth, creatures of legend. They do not speak of their secrets. Not then. Not until a chance encounter with a beautiful, sorrowful woman, who bears a magical crystal staff, draws the companions deeper into the shadows, forever changing their lives and shaping the fate of the world.
No one expected them to be heroes.
Least of all, them.

worst reader ever
I lasted only 2 chapters, the reader was so bad and robotic it was only through sheer determination that i didn't quit after the first 5 minutes. I had to Google to confirm the reader was actually human and not the company using a computer reader.
I've been told this is a magical series, but sadly i will not get the chance to find out.

Dissapointing, childish and unengaging.
The first audible purchase I've regretted. The delivery is slow and lacks flow to the extent that I felt disengaged from the story. This is not helped by the source material - it's tedious and predictable. There are so many better options - this is not the audiobook you are looking for!

Painful narration
I remember this book from years back and was really keen to hear it read. I haven’t heard narration this bad since my daughter started to learn to read. I hat a disappointment. Couldn’t even plough my way through. Such a shame that the narrator let down what I remember to have been a great book

Maybe not for me
To the book: My other half has read this book so many times, he can quote it by heart. I haven't read a fantasy based on D&D before and I struggled to become invested in the giant cast of characters.
The book is well written and if dwarves and elves are your thing, you'll probably thoroughly enjoy this. It wasn't really my cup of tea, if I read fantasy novels, I prefer to have one toe still in semi-reality as I know it.
To the Narration: Not great. Constant emphasis on phrases and words out of the context of the writing made it a hard listen. The characterisations of the players by the narrator were good, but the weird pace of the reading means I won't be in a hurry to purchase another book read by this narrator.
