Der Archäologe Stephen Foxx entwickelt dazu eine kühne These: Jemand muss als Zeitreisender versucht haben, Aufnahmen von Jesus Christus zu machen. Er begibt sich in Israel auf die Suche nach dem spektakulären Video. Aber Foxx scheint nicht der einzige zu sein, der sich ein Bild machen will... Mit gewohnter Raffinesse entwickelt Andreas Eschbach ein Verschwörungs-Szenario, das einen nicht mehr los lässt.

Die Bedienungsanleitung zu einer hochmodernen Videokamera in einem 2000 Jahre alten Grab in Israel kann nur eins bedeuten: Zu Lebzeiten Jesu Christi hat diese Videokamera vermutlich Aufnahmen von historisch einmaligen Ausmaßen gemacht. Währenddessen entschlüsselt Stephen Foxx Teile einer Nachricht, die ebenfalls in dem Grab gefunden wurde und die er heimlich dem Zugriff von Multimilliardär John Kaun entzogen hat.
