The narration was good, but plot predictable. Ive read some of the authors previous books which had more thrills...
enjoyed the narration, lazy way to read a book! but I could listen whilst sewing etc.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I rarely give 5 stars which I save for the very, very best. This did not quite deserve 5 stars but was better than my normal 4 star reads; wish you had ½ star ratings Audible. Yes, I would definitely recommend this book to a friend who enjoyed a good thriller. It was an all rounder; a well fleshed out book and the ending was perfect.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes, the plot did keep me 'on the edge of my seat' so to speak. James, cleverly built up the suspense from one chapter to the next, but interspersed each heart thumping moment with a bit of softness and love to do with our policeman's personal life which was a wonderful contrast to the crazy protagonist who stalked nearly every page.
Which character – as performed by Daniel Weyman – was your favorite?
Pretty well all of them, but he did Detective Inspector Grace pretty well, and also his yankee accent wasn't too bad with the Bryce character either.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Don't date on line and die......
Any additional comments?
Well written tight plot, terrifically narrated by Daniel Wyman. Character development was excellent, this book contained all the necessary elements of a good and very satisfying thriller suspense novel. Absolutely recommend!

Oh my... Let me start by saying 'Less would have been ALOT more'. Remove 3 hours of unnecessary 'stuff"...very tedious police procedure, violence in needless detail, dialog so mundane it had me reaching for fast forward - Enliven the main character (who was entirely devoid of personality) - Ditch the awful American accent, and the book might have been passable.
What disappointed you about Want You Dead?
Predictable flat characters, cliched bedroom scenes, too long to reach the end only to find I guessed the ending two chapters in!
What was most disappointing about Peter James’s story?
It is quite the worst novel he has written - almost as though he has run out of new ideas. Sad because I have really enjoyed his work in the past.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Daniel Weyman?
Yes the poor chap made a reasonably good job of what he had to work with ( apart from the 'husky' women's voices!)
What character would you cut from Want You Dead?
On this occasion - all of them!
Any additional comments?
The main character is a woman called 'Red' apparently her real name. She advertises for a date in the personal column, he turns out to be your friendly neighbourhood psychopath ...

I've listened to all of Peter James previous Roy Grace "Dead" books, which is a great series following a similar format about a crime-fighting detective in Brighton. It would be advisable to listen to the books in the right order.
This latest book "Want your Dead" has a far-fetched and one-dimensional storyline about a woman being stalked by a crazy previous lover. Although Grace's impending wedding features, plus the rather tedious saga of Sandy (his previous wife) who decides to turn up at the wedding, the events follow a predictable format, and the ending just as you might expect.
However, the narrator was excellent, he has a brilliant range of voices.
