Publisher's Summary
Boston girl Molly Sutton moves to a small village in France to lick her wounds after a divorce. Castillac is charming, the croissants amazing, the wine delectable. Molly's new life is full of contentment, if a bit short on excitement.
But then a girl goes missing...and Molly's world gets turned upside down.
Truth be told, no one in the village feels safe. They struggle to believe such darkness could exist in a friendly village, where people spend most of their time thinking about nothing more frightening than what to have for lunch.
And when the missing girl's distraught parents come to stay at Molly's bed and breakfast, she is drawn into the case, like it or not.
Will Molly and the French detective figure out what happened to Amy Bennett before someone else disappears?

Americanisms
The author does a nice job of pulling you in to the romanticism of French village life but seems strangely unaware of default American cultural references that make no sense when attached to French villagers.
Eg having a character refer to “Mr Rogers”.
PS Very strange and abrupt ending also

Ridiculous how long it took to even start looking for the missing girl.
It took just over 3&1/2hrs of listening for the characters to actually find a clue. It took another 1hr for it to start getting interesting and finally find who the killer was. That’s 4&1/2hrs of wasted listening time!! Descriptions are great, yes but repeatedly going over the same things in different ways to draw the story out is frustrating!!! The only reason I got through it was to fast forward through all the mumbo jumbo !!!!
