Publisher's Summary

In this brilliant debut, a psychologist finds herself drawn into the dark world of a serial killer - who may be closer than she thinks. Mulholland Books presents...Crossbones Yard.

Ray and Marie Benson killed 13 women before they were caught, tried and imprisoned. Five of their victims were never found.

Six years later psychologist Alice Quentin discovers a woman's body on the waste ground at Crossbones Yard. The wounds are horrifyingly similar to the Bensons' signature style. But who would want to copy their crimes?

When Alice is called in to consult, her first instinct is to say no. She wants to focus on treating her patients, not analysing the mind of a murderer.

But the body at Crossbones Yard is just the start, and the killer may already be closer than Alice knows.

the story should be in the love drama arena, not crime. Please Audible do not do this.

Dreary

Alice the psychologist- so very very very like a 2 dimensional copy of Nicci French's Freda Klein. Shame the plot was thin and predictable. Avoid

disappointing

A trite, predictable and superficial story. could have been helped with a more sympathetic narrator

Narrator too old

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If audible had chosen a narrator closer in age to the heroine.

Has Crossbones Yard put you off other books in this genre?

No I love the genre. This one is a dud, though.

What didn’t you like about Charlotte Strevens’s performance?

Her voice is way too old for the part.

What character would you cut from Crossbones Yard?

Not sure.

Any additional comments?

This is the first audible book I've given up on. Narrator totally miscast.
